In July 1981, seven engineers from Patni Computer Systems launched Infosys Consulting in Pune, Maharashtra, India. Today, Infosys has offices in over 50 countries supporting 1,700 clients with a workforce of 314,000 employees worldwide.
Growth, Acquisitions, and Financials
The budding firm would move to Bangalore two years later and move into the North American market with offices in Boston in 1987 and Toronto in 1997. Infosys expanded its US presence by the new millennium while establishing offices in Europe and Australia. In the 2000s, the company would continue to grow and reach over $1 billion in profit and 100,000 employees in 2009.
