Tech Data Expands Cloud Lineup, Adds Windows Server 2003 Migration Hub
Tech Data announced an agreement with Barracuda Networks, a cloud-connected security and storage specialist, to provide Barracuda’s complete product portfolio to Tech Data’s channel of solution providers in the United States. Barracuda products, including content security, network and application security, and storage, are now available through Tech Data’s Advanced Infrastructure Solutions (AIS) division.
Designed for midmarket professionals, Barracuda’s security and storage solutions help end users address security threats, improve network performance, and protect and store data. Barracuda’s Total Threat Protection initiative covers every threat vector—email, Web, users, applications, and network—and its Data Protection Plus initiative focuses on productivity while protecting and storing information for customers. Barracuda Firewall, Barracuda Spam Firewall, Barracuda Web Filter, Barracuda Backup and CudaSign eSignature solution are available to Tech Data’s reseller network.
Barracuda’s partner program includes deal registration, discounts on certain product families, and increased purchase limits to use toward solutions and training. Tech Data will use Barracuda’s CudaSign e-signature solution to onboard new resellers.
In separate news, Tech Data has launched a Windows Server 2003 Migration Hub for solution providers. The hub is a comprehensive program and dedicated portal for the migration of the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 OS and related products and services. The program provides solution providers with end-of-life support, security patches, tech support and content updates.
WD Enhances Channel Partner Program
WD, a Western Digital company, and storage solutions supplier, has enhanced its myWD Partner Program for managed service providers, VARs and system integrators with new features, including product solution centers, such as surveillance, NAS and data center; industry-focused marketing assets; and on-demand product training.
The loyalty channel program also includes discounts of up to 40 percent on qualifying products used for demos, testing or internal use, and a points system that enables members to earn rewards based on WD product purchases from distributors.
Odin Named Gold Member of the OpenStack Foundation
Parallels has been approved as the newest gold member of the OpenStack Foundation. Parallels recently rebranded its service provider business unit as Odin, which will assume the membership under the Odin brand.
Odin’s contributions to the OpenStack community have focused on improving the integration of container virtualization within the OpenStack compute layer, and working within the community to help optimize OpenStack orchestration for the service provider industry.
Infinite Convergence Launches Messaging Platform
Infinite Convergence Solutions, a carrier-grade mobility solutions provider, has expanded its enterprise message services suite with the introduction of EMS Flex for service providers and network mobile operators to generate new revenue streams. The addition to the Enterprise Messaging Suite is a customizable service that requires no capital expenditures and enables service providers and mobile network operators to offer messaging solutions to enterprise customers and resellers. Features include a turnkey (white-label) business, flexible routing options, full control to manage multi-level accounts, billing support, and analytics and reports.
Pure Storage Improves Global P3 Partner Program
Pure Storage, a solid-state array vendor, has unveiled new and improved programs as part of the Pure Storage Partner Program (P3). As its primary sales channel, the P3 partner program now includes refined membership tiers (silver, gold and platinum), an improved incentive framework consisting of a new co-branded partner-driven customer reference program, a demo purchase program featuring significant discounts on products differentiated by partner tier, and the introduction of a new Pure sponsored headcount incentive for platinum partners to accelerate the development of their all-flash storage practice. The company is also investing in new tools, training and support as well as enhancements to its deal-registration system.
