Avnet Launches Cloud Marketplace

Avnet rolled out Avnet Cloud Marketplace, which is designed to be a one-stop shop offering a wide range of solutions from leading cloud service providers, flexible payment models and a cloud management toolset. The marketplace enables U.S. and Canadian partners to offer cloud-based services through consumption- and subscription-based models and “create branded storefronts to offer complete solutions to customers,” the company said.

The marketplace has tools to help partners and their customers manage the cloud services they purchase.

According to the distributor, the Avnet Cloud Marketplace offers functionality for VARs, ISVs, MSPs, SIs, technology manufacturers and end users.  

Veeam Unveils Managed Backup Portal for Service Providers

Veeam Software introduced the Veeam Managed Backup Portal for Service Providers, which enables them to launch new services and build new cloud revenue streams. The new portal, available through the Microsoft Azure Marketplace, streamlines the delivery of Veeam backup services (including backup-as-a service) for service providers, including resellers that are interested in launching a service provider business. It will be generally available in the first quarter of 2016.

The portal, which provides a “business-in-a-box,” offers remote monitoring and management of customer backups via a service provider portal for administrative and billing purposes, and a customer portal for basic self-service monitoring and configuration. Established and new service providers can use the offering as a foundation to deliver value-added services, Veeam said.

Metalogix Expands Web-Based Training and Certification Program

Metalogix, a provider of unified management software to migrate, manage and secure content across enterprise collaboration platforms in the cloud and on-premises, has expanded its Metalogix Academy Web-based training and certification program, which is available for free to Metalogix clients. Designed for customers and partners, the program further enhances the user experience with discussion threads and “ask the instructor” sessions that offer live class interaction for each technical course.

Program participants are eligible to earn “certificates” for each course they complete. Clients are entitled to a 20 percent transferrable discount on any additional Metalogix software product when they complete a full series of Metalogix Academy. 

SkyKick Offers Microsoft Partners Free Backup of Cloud Data

SkyKick, a global provider of cloud management software for IT solution partners, is offering its Cloud Backup application as a free benefit through Microsoft’s Internal Use Rights (IUR) program until June 2016. SkyKick’s Cloud Backup application provides cloud-to-cloud backup, unlimited storage and instantaneous recovery of Office 365 data, including Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft OneDrive for Business and Microsoft SharePoint.

With the new IUR benefit, Microsoft Action Pack, Silver and Gold Competency partners can back up their cloud data using SkyKick technology and store that data on Azure for free. The benefit for channel partners is additional recurring revenue opportunities. SkyKick’s Office 365 Migration Suites also are available for free through the Microsoft Office 365 IUR program through June 2016.

Continuum Adds Webroot Security Dashboard

Continuum, a channel-exclusive provider of integrated managed IT services solutions, has integrated Webroot’s SecureAnywhere Business Endpoint Protection with its ITSupport Portal to create a security dashboard in a single pane of glass that simplifies the management process for managed service providers (MSPs). From the dashboard, MSPs can see all sites at a glance, enabling them to better protect desktops and servers by addressing antivirus issues immediately.
