Managed services providers have two new tools in their arsenals from
industry heavy-hitters LPI Level Platforms and ConnectWise.

Level Platforms released its Managed Workplace 2011 integrated remote
monitoring, management and automation software platform for IT service
providers in the managed services business on Tuesday. And ConnectWise, a
business management solution for IT service providers, VARs and MSPs, launched
an upgraded version of its StreamLine IT system.

The Level Platforms Managed Workplace 2011 product includes Automation
OnDemand, an option device manager agent and improved IT integration
capabilities with both local infrastructure and cloud services. It is available
in both hosted cloud and on-premises versions.

"Managed Workplace 2011 is going to be a game changer for us this year.
We could not be more excited about the hybrid approach of agent and agentless
architecture, and we look forward to utilizing the new scripting engine to
further automate our operations," Sean Furman, president of S.T.F.
Consulting, said in a statement.

The Ottawa, Ontario-based company will be educating partners on the product
in a 19-city road show across North America Feb. 8-24.

ConnectWise’s StreamLine IT upgrade is designed to help partners “capture
additional sales opportunities when faced with an internal IT staff,” the
company said in a statement, by giving end users the ability to delve into
performance metrics and service level data. Features of the product include a
service board for insight into open IT issues, a dispatch portal to organize
resources, detailed reports, insight into company projects and configuration
management.

The company is also incorporating marketing resources in StreamLine IT,
including sales training videos, sales sheets and marketing campaign kick-off e-mails
for partners.

“Using StreamLine IT provides numerous benefits to our clients’ IT
professionals as well as value to the C-suite executives, and helps distinguish
us as not just a vendor of technical services but a business partner,” said
Jane Cage, COO of Harlan, Iowa-based
solution provider Heartland Technology Solutions. “StreamLine IT, which now
includes the sales and marketing toolkit, truly helps us support our clients’
business objectives.”
