Systems Solutions Inc., a national systems integrator, recently announced the availability of a turnkey email and collaboration server for businesses from SMBs to the Enterprise in partnership with Open-Xchange Inc., a leading open-source collaboration software vendor.
The complete hardware and software package combines an IBM xSeries server, the customer’s choice of a Novell/SUSE or Red Hat server Linux distribution, and Open-Xchange 5 collaboration server.
Systems Solutions configures the server for maximum transparency on the customer side, using current email and collaboration set-up, plus any specific requirements.
The package and its integration are meant to be a drop-in replacement for existing e-mail/groupware setups such as Lotus Domino/Notes or Microsoft Exchange/Outlook.
Open-Xchange Server 5 provides the key messaging functions like e-mail, calendaring, contacts and task management along with such groupware functionality as document sharing, project tracking, user forums and a knowledge base.
Open-Xchange Server 5 can deliver these services to both “rich clients” such as Microsoft Outlook as well as most Web browsers and mobile devices.
