Avaya Inc. this week signed Firetide Inc., a wireless mesh network vendor, to its DeveloperConnection Program, working on third-party communications solutions compatible with Avaya devices.
The marriage of vendors allows channel partners of both companies to implement Avaya voice, video and data applications indoors and outdoors over Firetide’s mesh backbone, said Bo Larson, Firetide’s CEO.
“Firetide’s Avaya connection will give our channel partners the opportunity to integrate Firetide mesh networks with customers who want to use Avaya voice products,” Larson said.
“This partnership provides Avaya resellers the opportunity to include Firetide mesh networks in their Avaya implementations. This will allow them to extend their voice networks quickly and easily using a Firetide wireless mesh.”
Firetide is the first mesh network provider to join the 1,500 vendors, VARs and solution providers working in DeveloperConnection, Larson said.
