The C-suite for several organizations has looked very different over the past month, with several new CEOs and other officers being named across the channel.

As June marks the close of the second quarter of the year, we recap some of the most significant hires impacting the channel space and which executive benches are being reshuffled.

Kaseya names Rania Succar as new CEO

Following Fred Voccola’s transition out of the CEO role at Kaseya, the AI-powered IT management and cybersecurity company announced that it has appointed Rania Succar as its new CEO.

Succar brings nine years of experience working at Intuit, most recently serving as Head of Intuit Mailchimp, focusing on helping small businesses grow revenue through AI tools, adding SMS marketing options, and expanding service to more countries.

“It’s a privilege to join Kaseya and contribute to a mission that deeply resonates with me,” said Succar. “Kaseya plays a vital role– alongside its MSP partners in more than 170 countries– in helping small- and mid-sized businesses thrive in an increasingly complex digital landscape. Additionally, Succar spent five years with Google before joining Intuit, leading brand solutions and innovation across North America.

Flexera appoints new CFO and new President

In June, Flexera announced a new president for its organization, along with a new chief financial officer (CFO) to help lead the business.

Mike Jerich will take over as the new president, overseeing day-to-day operations, executing Flexera’s strategic vision, and expanding its global presence across ITAM, FinOps, and SaaS management.

“Flexera is already an incredibly impressive company, and their successes to date are a big part of why I can’t wait to dive in and play my part,” said Jerich. “Just recently, the company hit record growth in 2024, acquired Spot and Snow Software, and launched its Cloud License Management capability. This commitment to remaining the leader in ITAM, FinOps, and SaaS Management aligns closely with my own dedication to operational discipline and drive. I’m thankful for the opportunity and trust to help build upon this recent growth as the company scales into the next phase of impact and innovation.”

Flexera has also tapped Chris Andersen as CFO to lead global finance for the organization and its Revenera division. 

Andersen brings over 25 years of financial leadership experience in the enterprise software industry, most recently serving as CFO of Acquia. Additionally, he held senior financial roles at Akamai Technologies, Progress Software, and Novell.

Blackpoint Cyber names new CEO

Blackpoint Cyber, a security platform provider, appointed Gagan Singh as its CEO this month, as Jon Murchison transitions into the role of executive chairman.

Both are projected to lead Blackpoint through its next transformation phase, which includes international expansion, the CompassOne platform, a go-to-market strategy, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

“Blackpoint Cyber is one of those rare companies which has truly disrupted the cybersecurity industry, and I’m honored to be its next CEO,” said Singh. “Jon has done an incredible job leading the company from vision to execution, building a platform and a team that truly redefines cybersecurity for the MSP and mid-market space. In his time with the company, Singh has helped lead Blackpoint’s channel-first go-to-market model, empowering MSP partners to expand their security offerings with Blackpoint’s technology.

SquareX names Mary Yang CMO

Browser security company SquareX has appointed Mary Yang as its new chief marketing officer (CMO), a seasoned marketing professional with over 20 years of experience.

Yang will lead SquareX’s marketing strategy, including brand growth, communications, and field and channel marketing for SquareX’s Browser Detection and Response solution.

When I saw the depth and breadth of the SquareX Browser Detection and Response solution along with the challenges it was solving, it was clear how game-changing this technology is,” said Yang. “Browsers are now the frontline of enterprise work and risk– every business-critical task happens inside a browser and nearly all major cyberattacks leverage the browser as part of the kill chain. NetApp appoints new CPO

NetApp, an intelligent data infrastructure company, recently appointed Syam Nair as its new chief product officer (CPO), effective July 7.

Nair will succeed Harv Bhela, who concluded his tenure as product leader in June.

Before joining NetApp, Nair brings experience as a former executive at Salesforce and Microsoft, as well as over 25 years of experience in scaling cloud platforms and driving growth. Nair will lead NetApp’s product and engineering teams to accelerate innovation in hybrid cloud and AI offerings, advancing their strategic vision for data-driven business growth.

Nair has more recently served as CTO and EVP of research and development at Zscaler.

Pia names David Schwartz its new CEO

AI-enabled help desk automation platform Pia recently announced that David Schwartz will be its new CEO.

Schwartz recently joined Pia earlier this year as general manager and chairman of the Growth Advisory Committee.

“I’m honored to take on this role and excited to build on the great work already happening at Pia,” said Schwartz. “What drew me to this company is the clarity of purpose; Pia’s solutions are designed to solve meaningful, everyday challenges for MSPs. As we move forward, my focus will be on continuing to foster an environment where our people can thrive, innovate, and deliver even greater value for our customers.”

Before joining Pia, Schwartz previously served as CEO of Wireless Watchdogs, leading the company through phases of growth and a successful acquisition by Dataprise.

He has already been shepherding Pia through aligning product, sales, marketing, and customer success to increase the adoption and retention of AI-driven solutions.

Gregory Donovan named VP of Revenue at QuSecure

QuSecure, a provider of post-quantum cryptography (PQC), announced that it has named Gregory Donovan as its new vice president of revenue.

This new move comes as the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the White House have made quantum threat security a clear and immediate priority through the development of frameworks and executive orders.

“I was impressed with the leadership and approach that QuSecure has taken to solve what could be a trillion-dollar problem in the market,” said Donovan. “I chose QuSecure for that very reason– how it can provide PQC and cryptographic agility now and how I see our innovation evolving to solve current cybersecurity issues while preparing for larger quantum threats.”

Donovan most recently worked at Keyfactor, a PKI cybersecurity company, and served as chief growth officer at Cognition, a leading provider of go-to-market strategies and activities for an industrial automation and AI company.

Cogent names Brett Hansen as COO

Provider of data protection at the edge for military services, Cigent, found a new COO this past month, naming Brett Hansen as chief operating officer.

Hansen will work to boost Cigent’s support for customer and partner data security needs and accelerate go-to-market efforts through strategic relationships with federal systems integrators (FSIs) and original design manufacturers (ODMs).

Hansen previously served in leadership roles at Dell Technologies and as chief growth officer at high-growth SaaS companies.

“Cigent’s momentum is a reflection of the growing need for robust, layered protection at the edge,” said Hansen. “With a proven product roadmap, strong customer demand, and a passionate, mission-driven team, we are poised to redefine how the U.S. military and FSIs secure data in the most demanding environments.”

Saviynt names Steve Blacklock Channel Chief

Saviynt, a provider of cloud-native identity and governance platform solutions, has appointed Steve Blacklock as its new SVP of global partners and channel chief.

The former Palo Alto Networks and Citrix executive will lead Saviynt’s global partner organization, deepen strategic alliances, drive go-to-market through the partner and sales teams, and spearhead the development of new strategic partnerships to drive growth.

“I’m excited to join Saviynt after meeting with the executive team and hearing their commitment to being ‘partners first, ’” Blacklock said. “It is a pivotal moment for the company, and I’m looking forward to helping grow the team and broaden the partner ecosystem to include multiple types of advisory, solutions, and technology partners. Blacklock also brings experience from several executive leadership roles beyond Palo Alto Networks and Citrix, including serving as VP of strategic alliances at Icertis, leading partnerships with Microsoft and SAP.

ClearScale names new CEO and new Chief Client Officer

AWS consulting services partner, ClearScale, announced that it had named Matthew Stoyka as new CEO, while outgoing CEO Jimmy Chui transitions to Chief Client Officer.

“It’s a privilege to continue ClearScale’s proud legacy as a valued strategic advisor to clients and a trusted AWS Premier Tier Services Partner,” said Stoyka. “I look forward to meeting with our clients and many partners in the coming weeks to define our path for accelerated growth.”

Chui stepped into the role of CEO in December 2023 and will now serve as chief client officer, focusing on long-term success.
