Are you feeling the pinch of the credit crunch yet? IT channel watcher and industry analyst Denise Sangster has reported order cancellations for IT and a decline in new business in the United States, according to Paul Weinberg here.

The pressure is coming from inside organizations that purchase IT, where new technology purchases are being looked upon as “crazy.”

And while Weinberg notes that IT vendors have used their own financing schemes to insulate the channel from the credit crunch so far, that may be changing, as customers seem to be having more trouble paying during an established time frame.

NetApps is beefing up its direct sales force — hiring several hundred more sales reps — and channel partners are welcoming the added support, according to a report in ChannelWeb.

The storage vendor is also adding to its channel program new specializations, certifications, and hosting partnerships, as well as better support for its federal government partners.

Apple seems to be gaining some momentum with businesses, according to a TechTarget report. The report cites several resellers who are seeing a pickup in business for what has been considered a niche platform for graphic designers and education.
