Remediation platform vendor Vicarius recently announced its integration with RMM/PSA software provider Atera. The move comes as the company continues to deepen its channel focus and build out support for partners.
We spoke with Tanya Alfonso, VP of channel sales at Vicarius, about the integration and why the company sees such an opportunity with its channel partners in the remediation space.
vRX platform joins Atera’s App Center marketplace as security remains top priority
The integration blends Vicarius’ remediation capabilities with Atera’s monitoring and management platform, utilized by many MSPs to streamline operations.
MSPs can now easily deploy vRx’s full-stack remediation suite through the Atera platform and access:
- A range of remediation options from patch deployment and scripts to its proprietary Patchless Protection, which creates a secure barrier around vulnerable apps, maintaining functionality while significantly reducing risk until a validated patch is ready for deployment
- Automated remediation workflows and scheduled deployments
- The ability to manage their account, add team members, and manage billing directly within Atera
- vRx’s fully featured dashboard provides complete visibility and control over vulnerabilities prioritized by business context
Vicarius calls its offering the industry’s first autonomous end-to-end vulnerability remediation platform.
“As IT teams and MSPs face an increasingly complex security landscape, we’re excited to welcome Vicarius to the Atera AppCenter. Vulnerability scanning and assessment have been among the most requested capabilities from our users, making this integration a natural extension of Atera’s AI-driven monitoring and management platform,” said Atera’s VP of Marketplace, Mayan Mandel. “AppCenter customers can now seamlessly connect with a range of third-party solutions across the cybersecurity spectrum to meet their evolving needs.”
Alfonso says the integration with Atera and other popular MSP-focused marketplaces, coming soon, also offers crucial RMM support for MSPs who can now access the vRx solution without having to build those connections from scratch.
“Platforms and marketplaces are helping to reduce complexity, and we want to bring partners what they need to be successful, especially those MSPs and resellers working in the SMB space, which Atera focuses on heavily,” Alfonso said.
Vicarius pursues channel-exclusive approach to global remediation adoption
Vicarious works exclusively within the channel to serve organizations of all sizes across various verticals. Alfonso sees the vRx platform as an opportunity for partners to diversify and expand security offerings while also efficiently addressing remediation once potential risks are identified.
“Partners need to show they can provide clients with the business outcomes they want. Those clients are outsourcing for a reason- they want to see costs lowered and issues resolved,” Alfonso said. “The way we help our partners is both by providing them a way to enter the remediation space if they don’t already do so, and also bringing partners that manually address threats a more efficient and automated way to keep customers secure.”
As Alfonso notes, there are many security solutions focused on pinpointing risk, testing for potential risk, and even prioritizing which risks should be solved first. Remediation, however, remains a largely manual process that many MSPs undertake with their staff to implement the recommendations that their other tools reveal.
The company runs several training and certification programs to enable its partners to best leverage the technology. To date, Alfonso says 5,000 people have been trained and certified in a variety of skills relating to the selling and supporting of vRx with clients worldwide.
All of this aims to address what Alfonso sees as a pivotal moment in the channel and broader IT industries. Security remains a crucial priority for virtually every business; at the same time, the gap between available tech talent and job openings is at a staggering high. Unsurprisingly, managed services growth remains strong as organizations discover that outsourcing to a trusted advisor is becoming the most effective option available.
Not all MSPs have fully caught up to the demand for next-generation security services, such as remediation, and Alfonso hopes Vicarius will continue to be a path for MSPs to explore new offerings and more efficient ways of working.
