Looking to build its nascent channel program, enterprise archiving solution vendor Mobius Management Systems has introduced a new solution program aimed specifically at systems integrators and ISVs.

The Rye, N.Y.-based company is now offering its TCI Application Accelerator Program, or TAAP, to partners that are looking to provide customers with integrated access to diverse content. Based on its Total Content Integrator product, the program enables the connection of any content source with any content user or application.

“This gives ISVs new opportunities to sell expanded solutions as well as gain new revenue,” said Jim Biggs, vice president of channel sales and marketing. “It gives them a whole new level of functionality they can build into their applications.”

Biggs joined Mobius six months ago when the 25-year-old company launched its channel program. His previous experience includes stints running the channel programs at Fast Search and Transfer, Banyan Networks, as well as a number of startup companies.

“Mobius has been a direct sales company,” said Abby Pinard, vice president of marketing and communications. “But our new version of TCI was released six months ago with the channel in mind. It’s designed to meet the needs of system integrators and ISVs.”

Previously, integrators and ISVs looking to provide this level of content integration to customers often were required to use custom API-based coding—a process that drives up the cost of application development, support and maintenance, according to Mobius. TCI simplifies the process by providing “out-of-the-box” access to information located anywhere in the enterprise, company officials said.

Mobius is targeting both system integrators and also those partners who will embed the software to create an application of their own. Biggs said that Mobius has three standard channel programs—systems integrators, ISVs and strategic alliances.

“Within these system integrators and OEMs, we have an early adopter program and a series of support and training opportunities to accelerate adoption of the program,” he said. Biggs noted that Mobius was still only in the early stages of signing up ISVs.
