IT
distribution giant Ingram Micro has appointed a new executive to lead its specialty
solutions division which includes Data Capture/POS; consumer
electronics subsidiaries IMCE and AVAD; and the Ingram Micro Mobility and
Physical Security business units, as well as Securematics.

Brian Wiser will now head
up this group as senior vice president reporting directly to Keith Bradley who
is senior executive vice president and president of Ingram Micro’s North
America region.

Wiser replaces John Soumbasakis who was appointed in April to senior vice president and
president Latin America and reports to Greg Spierkel, CEO, Ingram Micro.

Wiser has served as senior vice president of the Commercial,
Direct and Consumer Markets Divisions for Ingram Micro North America.  In that role he led the sales, vendor
management and marketing resources and also headed up channel marketing,
licensing and the region’s vertical market strategy.

“Brian has a proven track record of driving profitable
revenue growth, increasing market share, delivering innovative programs and
services, and expanding strategic relationships with our
partners,” said Bradley. “We are confident he will bring the same
results-focused approach to our Specialty Solutions Division as we seek to hit
aggressive targets and further diversify our business into higher-margin,
higher-value growth areas.”
