Microsoft’s Windows XP should be eliminated from businesses’ PCs by the end of 2012, according to a new report from research firm Gartner, as both ISVs and application builders begin to cut off support for the operating system. At the same time, the report states, organizations planning on a Windows 7 transition should begin planning and testing this year.
