As the momentum around thin-client computing grows this year, Wyse is working to update its product line.

The indirect sales thin-client company has introduced two new thin clients, the C10LE and V10LE, which include Wyse’s ThinOS 6.5, the most recent upgrade that is based on a software solution designed to increase security across virtual clients.

The new clients feature a multimedia accelerator to ensure a lighter load on the server and network and enabling Wyse’s collaborative processing architecture to deliver the best user experience, the company said. The C10LE draws just under 7 watts, and for higher performance the V10LE increases its speed by 50 percent over its V10L predecessor.

The V10LE thin client can also support an extra monitor with built-in dual video support, and functionality expansion is enabled with an optional PC-card expansion slot, the company said.

Wyse said its ThinOS is optimized for desktop virtualization from the three major vendors — Citrix HDX, Microsoft RDP and VMware View environments – and provide a software layer local to a thin client device that enables quick boot time, automatic updates and administrative simplicity.
