Ingram Micro is taking steps to ensure its VAR partners are taken care of during the wildfires raging throughout Southern California.

Officials with the Santa Ana, Calif.-based distributor Oct. 23 made phone calls and sent letters and e-mails to all southern California partners offering whatever assistance was necessary, they said.

“Whether you are in need of temporary staffing, field support, incremental credit resources, or simply want us to call-down your clients and business partners to check in and assure them it is business as usual—we want you to know we’re here to help,” read an e-mail from Brian Wiser, senior vice president of sales and vendor management at Ingram. “If your customers’ businesses have been impacted, we can work to help there, too.”

According to a California state spokesperson, about 68,500 homes and 2,200 businesses are threatened by the fires, which are being fueled by the warm and fast-moving Santa Ana winds. Ingram Micro does not have exact numbers, but officials said they believe the number of partners in the affected areas is in the hundreds.

Wiser also said in the e-mail that VAR partners based in Southern California should expect to receive phone calls from Ingram to ensure they are safe and to find out what assistance is required.
