Recently, IGEL announced that it has acquired Stratodesk, a provider of endpoint OS software and management solutions, in a move that will expand IGEL’s customer base and accelerate its mission to help organizations modernize their endpoint strategy via secure, cost-effective, and cloud-ready OS.
Stratodesk customers join IGEL’s expansive base
IGEL, a secure endpoint OS Platform designed for enterprise browser, SaaS, DaaS, and VDI environments, will add Stratodesk’s customers to its platform that is integrated with zero trust, management, and performance vendors, as well as enhance the organization’s channel partnerships.
“This agreement ensures our customers have access to the most powerful and secure endpoint OS, a future-proof situation as they transition to cloud-driven workspaces,” said Emanuel Pirker, founder & CEO of Stratodesk. “We’re confident that IGEL’s technology, expertise, and customer-first approach will provide the best possible path forward for our customers and partners.”
“This acquisition reflects IGEL’s continued momentum in the endpoint OS Platform market,” said Klaus Oestermann, CEO at IGEL. “Stratodesk customers will benefit from the industry’s most secure client OS, endpoint management solution, and our Adaptive Secure Desktop, significantly enhancing their endpoint security, resilience, and cost efficiency.”
CEO shares why the acquisition makes sense for all stakeholders
In a conversation with Channel Insider, Oestermann stated that the features Stratodesk customers will now have access to include deep integrations with Microsoft, as well as security, SaaS, and identity vendors.
As part of the acquisition, Pirker will join IGEL as a “field CTO,” according to Oestermann, and will work closely on key customer engagements, product roadmaps, and be influential in product direction.
“The main focus [is] the tech and sales leaders being integrated into the IGEL teams and will have a key responsibility in dealing with the Stratodesk customers and working with them– the same on the channel side,” said Oestermann. IGEL will leverage the expertise of Stratodesk’s developers in working on the IGEL platform to innovate in specific areas.
Oestermann highlights that Stratodesk already has great channel partners, and some of them will be new to IGEL, while others have been selling both Stratodesk and IGEL products for some time.
“There are countries where IGEL has not sold a lot in the past, where Stratodesk has sold a lot in the past,” said Oestermann. “They bring in some really good partners to IGEL now, and indications are that most of those partners want to start working closely with IGEL.”
This acquisition represents IGEL’s continued investment in endpoint security and enhances the momentum they have to capitalize on current trends in SaaS, DaaS, and VDI environments.
“We have what we call our adaptive secure desktop concept, which embraces and integrates VDI and DaaS– it integrates browsers, it integrates progressive web apps, it integrates native apps,” said Oestermann. “We’re basically seeing that a lot of both channel partners and customers really like that approach and have that integrated desktop approach where they can basically publish what’s needed per persona in their organization. I think if you look at the overall end user compute, endpoint security, user experience combination, we have an amazing offering and we’ll continue to invest in that as we move forward.”
Endpoint security is becoming increasingly crucial in the channel as the number of endpoints for businesses continues to scale upward. Read more about how the autonomous endpoint management (AEM) vendor, Action1, is helping customers secure more endpoints.
