Cato Networks Unveils SASE-Native Policy Analysis Engine

Cato Networks, a leader in SASE solutions, recently announced a new capability to transform IT operations with Cato Autonomous Policies.

Engine aims to analyze and improve SASE policies

The new capability is built into the Cato SASE Cloud Platform. It is a SASE-native policy analysis engine built to optimize and improve all SASE policies, including security, access, and networking.

Organizations can attain targeted, AI-driven recommendations for eliminating unnecessary security exposure, tightening access control, and proactively improving network performance with Cato Autonomous Policies.

Firewall-as-a-Service (FWaaS) will serve as first use case

According to Cato Networks, the first use case for Cato Autonomous Policies is FWaaS. The capability helps organizations, which have accumulated outdated, overly permissive, or misconfigured policies over time, to do the following:

  • Eliminate policy drive and misconfigurations: Reduce human error with AI-powered insights to optimize security policies across on-premises, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments.
  • Provide real-time zero-trust enforcement: Refine Zero-Trust policies with real-time telemetry to maintain effective micro segmentation and least privilege access.
  • Ensure strong security posture: Automatically analyze, learn, and adapt to evolving threats, compliance mandates, and operational requirements.

Further, with Cato Autonomous Policies for FWaaS, CISOs and security leaders can utilize the capability to shift from reactive defense to proactive protection. This allows them to:

  • Reduce operational risk and cost by streamlining, improving, and standardizing firewall policies, which minimizes the potential financial impact of severe service outages.
  • Optimize security operations by automating tasks usually handled by security teams. This will reduce the workload on IT staff and minimize the risk of human error.
  • Ensure compliance by continuously monitoring infrastructure and leveraging AI-powered insights to comply with regulations, reduce audit complexities, and ensure adherence to evolving security standards.
