US-based MSP aggregator, Evergreen Services Group, has made its first play into the Australian and Aotearoa New Zealand market, announcing its acquisition of Lancom Technology, an Auckland-based MSP with a presence in Australia via a Melbourne office.

Evergreen Services Group now has more than 70 organisations within the group globally. It operates a decentralised model, where each acquisition works as an independent entity, and its slate of MSPs includes Lyra Technology Group, Helix Technology Partners, and Westwood.

Evergreen acquiring Lancom fosters growth for both organisations

According to a release, Evergreen is looking forward to the potential for value for both organizations.

“It was apparent from the get-go that this acquisition would act as a catalyst, not just facilitating mutual growth, but also fostering shared values and a forward-thinking approach to innovation,” Ramsey Sahyoun, Head of M&A at Evergreen, said in the release. “Evergreen’s strategic vision aligns seamlessly with Lancom’s existing commitment to technological innovation.”

Meanwhile, Lancom CEO, Waruna Kirimetiyawa, said the appeal of the Evergreen acquisition was that it would be focused on supporting the team’s expertise, rather than replacing it. “Because of Evergreen’s ability to offer continuity within our organization, it only took us three weeks to decide that they were the right partner for us,” Kirimetiyawa said.

Lancom has had a busy start to the year, also announcing the appointment of former AWS Head of Strategic Alliances, Darryl Grauman, as Head of Revenue, in a newly created growth role.

Shortly after, the company also announced that it had achieved AWS Microsoft Workloads Certification. This highlights the importance of AWS to the company’s future vision, as this was earned just months after achieving AWS Migration competency.

Expect continued consolidation across APAC and beyond

The announcement of such a substantial acquisition highlights the ongoing trend of consolidation, which will be a significant part of the channel story across A/NZ and worldwide over the coming year. With local MSPs looking to scale, and global organisations like Evergreen looking to Australia as an economically and politically stable market to expand into, it is likely that many more acquisitions such as the one of Lancom will take place over the next 12 months.
