hi there I'm Katie boso on site here at ponet cyber security Summit 2024 in Toronto and today I'm joined by aam mccan he is the senior vice president of pre-sales experts for ponet Canada and we're so happy to have you here today hi Katie thank you very much it's great to be here thanks for having me thank you so much for being here let's jump right into talking about what we're seeing impacting the current threat landscape and of course driving cyber crime talk to me about what's impacting that and impacting the world's businesses as they try to overcome that yeah I think you know the number one incentive for the Bad actors is still money I think we're seeing the you know we're still seeing the rise in ransomware and it's impacting a lot of businesses we're seeing the the Bad actors and the threat actors leveraging AI these days so to increase the scale of their attack it's a numbers game for these guys still a lot of low hanging fruits that are still getting through we're seeing it with the internet of things um OT operational technology environments are big targets for businesses the risks are you know increased threats right the scale of them has gone up there's Financial losses obviously not just from the breach itself but there could be Financial uh implications with the regulatory bodies brand recognition you know a company's reputation it takes a long time to recover from that so these are all increasing risks and we're seeing that scale up more and more each and every day well now that we're scared let's talk about the foret platform and how you're working against these Bad actors so tell me what's included in that platform and how is it built to stay one step ahead of these cyber criminals and Bad actors sure so the the platform approach is a great approach right this is what everybody's really been asking for is that the foret security fabric is what we call our platform approach and it's that integration of all these disparate tools that you have in your environment you gone to the days of buying individual Point Solutions what we need now is the ability to have a coordinated and an efficient response to these threats so you know there are many core pieces to the fabric mean our next Generation firewall being one of them even the secure networking our Wi-Fi our switching portfolio web application firewalls and all these products that we have and foret has about approximately 50 plus products you know are all being integrated together so you can have a coordinated efficient response it can be automated it's leveraging our Ai and this is what's needed because as we get into increased Network visibility which is what everybody really needs nowadays what we're finding is employee fatigue the amount of events that are are coming up so our ability to leverage AI to coordinate and automate responses is really helping people with the Cyber skill shortages what makes the foret solutions and your overall approach to cyber security stand out from competing companies and why should that matter to your partners and customers it definitely matters you know one of the key ingredients to all of this is our fard Labs our threat research that intelligence that we get we have you know numerous sensors worldwide that are feeding us billions and billions of bits of information every day every second of the day and we we correlate that data and allows us to detect threats a lot faster and we can disseminate that information to all our products worldwide so customers are are protected right away as threats are occurring the other thing that sets us aside from our competitors is our ability to perform in high stressful High throughput environments so our performance with our as6 which are developed in-house and even just here in Canada in Vancouver allows us to be scalable in any environment across the world right and I think another differentiator for for foret is our broad product portfolio so just in our uh industry-leading Next Generation firewall which has 30 plus networking and security features just in that one product we also have a product portfolio of 50 plus technologies that you can leverage right and and develop those into the fabric and then we can also leverage uh and continue to move forward with our AI improvements to automate to provide configuration uh recommendations for remediations Etc
