Printer vendor Konica Minolta Business Solutions has acquired Hughes-Calihan, a full-service document and information management solutions provider.

The deal, for an undisclosed sum will see Phoenix-based Hughes-Calihan operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Konica Minolta and maintain its 250 employees. The solution provider, which has been a Konica reseller since 1993, currently services Arizona, Nevada, and California’s Imperial Valley.

“Our goal is to implement a multi-faceted growth strategy that encompasses organic growth with direct KMBS offices, value-based partnerships with dealer-partners and acquisition where there is clear value for the customer and the company,” Jun Haraguchi, president and CEO of Konica Minolta Business Solutions said in a statement.”

The printer vendor has also today signed a partnership with Danka Business Systems that will enable Danka to sell Konica Minolta products in the United States.

Under the terms of the agreement, which is due to start in early 2008, Danka will sell the complete line of Bizhub color printers and network-ready multifunctional products and network printers. Danka also works with Canon, HP, Toshiba and Kodak in the printing arena.
