Some notebook manufacturers pin success on the ability to be the fastest or lightest or most feature rich systems on the market, and while cutting edge technology does have its place, there is a simple truth that many ignore – affordability.

While many may salivate over the performance of the latest top-of-the-line Lenovo ThinkPad or the diminutiveness of a Toshiba Portege Subnote, affording one of those gems is just not in the budget of many companies – especially in volume. Solution providers have long learned that the best notebook computers for their customers are often built on compromises. Case in point is the new Toshiba Tecra R10 notebook computer, a feature rich, yet affordable system that should meet the needs of most business users.

At 4.4 pounds, the R10 isn’t the lightest notebook around, and with a 14.1 inch screen, the R10 isn’t the largest around, and with a 25 watt Intel Centrino CPU, the R10 won’t be the fastest notebook around. But, with a price point just shy of $1,500 and a three year warranty, Toshiba does provide one abosulute with the R10 – value.
