The anticipation is palitable at the Microsoft Window 7 launch event in Manhattan. At the Skylight Studios in SOHO, Microsoft has packed a small room with dozens of reporters from mainstream and technology media outlets.It’s literally standing room only.

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is expected to take the stage shortly with a special guest to inaugurate Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.
