Ross Brown, former CEO of
eEye Digital Security and a veteran in the channel will start at Microsoft on
June 2, Microsoft says.

Brown will
assume the title of vice president of solution and ISV
partners in the Worldwide Partner Group and will develop and manage Microsoft’s
global partner account managers who work with ISVs, system integrators, and
solution provider partners worldwide.

Brown came to endpoint security vendor eEye in 2005 as COO,
was promoted to the company’s CEO in
September of 2006 but served only for about six months.  He was ousted by that company’s board of
directors in April 2007 and replaced with the company’s then senior VP of sales
and marketing, Kamal Arafeh.

A seasoned channel veteran, Brown spent three years at
Citrix as vice preseident of worldwide sales and channel operations before working at eEye. He also was a worldwide
channel marketing manager at IBM, and has
been working as a private channel consultant since leaving eEye.

Brown will report to Allison Watson, corporate vice
president of Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Group, Microsoft says.
