Ingram Micro to Acquire Odin Service Automation Platform

Ingram Micro will acquire certain assets from Parallels Holdings Ltd., a provider of commercial cloud management platform technologies, connectors, billing systems and professional services. Under the terms of the transaction, Ingram Micro will acquire the Parallels Odin Service Automation platform along with associated cloud management technologies, intellectual property and the Odin brand. Approximately 500 Odin employees are expected to join Ingram Micro. As a part of the Ingram Micro Cloud division, these employees will continue the development of the Odin automation platform and Ingram’s cloud service offerings as members of the Ingram Micro Cloud division.

Leveraging Odin technology, Ingram Micro’s automation platform provides partners with the ability to sell their solutions to customers via Ingram Micro’s channel of resellers, telcos/carriers, hosting companies, managed service providers, systems integrators and suppliers. As a part of the Ingram Micro Cloud portfolio of technology and business solutions, Odin Service Automation will operate as a business unit of Ingram Micro. The transaction is expected to close this month.

In other news, Xirrus, a provider of wireless networks, signed a new distribution agreement with Ingram Micro. The agreement allows Ingram Micro to provide Xirrus WiFi services to channel partners in the United States.

EnGenius Enhances Partner Program

EnGenius Technologies, a provider of networking and telecommunications solutions, redesigned its EnPower Partner Program to make it easier for partners to do business with the company. The new program features three partner tiers—silver, gold and platinum, which are determined by the partner’s revenue commitment. While silver partners are not required to make a quarterly revenue commitment, gold partners must make a commitment of $3,000 per quarter and platinum partners commit to sales of $6,000 per quarter.

Key program features for silver partners include monthly instant rebates, deal registration, Website dealer listing, and certification trainings. They also receive a discounted demo unit, and free technical and management platform support and design services.  

Gold and platinum partners receive even more benefits, in addition to those provided to silver partners. Gold partners receive marketing development funds of $1,000 per quarter to increase brand awareness and generate leads, and quarterly back-end rebates.

Platinum partners also receive marketing development funds of $2,000 per quarter, and quarterly back-end rebates, as well as free advanced replacement policy, Level II support hotline, extended service hours, priority repair service and a dedicated account manager.

DataCore Software Signs Velocity Tech Solutions Signs DataCore

DataCore Software, a provider of software-defined storage and hyper-converged virtual SAN solutions, signed Velocity Tech Solutions as a VAR in the United States. Velocity Tech Solutions primarily resells server and storage hardware offerings from HP and Dell, including EqualLogic. The new offering enables the reseller to sell an entirely virtualized solution.

Innovit Certified by 1WorldSync

Innovit, a provider of software solutions for product information management (PIM) and global data synchronization (GDS), announced it is a 1WorldSync certified solution partner. 1WorldSync, a global product information network and data pool solutions provider, globally certified Innovit’s IICE Connector product. Under the certification, both companies will collaborate to deliver PIM solutions focused in France, Germany, Spain and the United States.

Carousel Industries Named a Skype for Business Launch Partner

Carousel Industries, a managed services provider (MSP) offering unified communications, data solutions and audio/visual solutions, completed the requirements to support the new Skype for Business services in Office 365, and is adding it to its own production Office 365 tenant. In August, Carousel migrated more than 1,100 of its own employees to Skype for Business, creating a single platform, which increased productivity, lowered complexity and reduced expenses, according to the company.

Tata Joins Scaled Agile Partner Program

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a global IT services, consulting and business solutions organization, joined the Scaled Agile Partner program as a gold partner to support the company’s Scaled Agile Framework—a knowledge base for implementing agile practices at enterprise scale. TCS’s Agile Practice offers end-to-end enablement with more than 200 TCS SAF3-certified consultants.

Capgemini Launches IDaaS Offering

Capgemini, a provider of consulting, technology and outsourcing services, launched a new identity as a service (IDaaS) offering as part of its Cybersecurity Global Service Line. The offering is designed to enable organizations to control how employees, partners and consumers access services and information. The offering integrates commercial and open-source components, including RSA Via Lifecycle and Governance from RSA, the Security Division of EMC, together with expertise in cloud-based applications and cyber-security from Capgemini and Sogeti, its professional services subsidiary.
