IT distribution giant Ingram
Micro used its Cloud Summit in Phoenix this week to demonstrate its Cloud
Marketplace, a transactional online marketplace where IT solution providers can
shop, procure, provision and obtain invoices for their cloud services directly
from Ingram Micro.

“Ingram Micro stands alone as
the IT industry’s leading services aggregator and strives to ensure our channel
partners are influencing the market and driving positive change for their
customers by offering best-in-class technology solutions and cloud services,”
said Keith Bradley, senior executive vice president and president, Ingram Micro
North America, in a statement.

That aggregation and the
invoicing solution from Ingram Micro is leading many vendors and IT solution
providers to choose to partner with Ingram Micro in the cloud.

“The Ingram Micro [Cloud
Services Division] group handles the monthly billing for us,” Vince Massey, Sr.
Director North American Channels at SonicWall, told Channel Insider.  SonicWall is currently piloting three new
programs for MSPs after working with Ingram Micro partners to find out what
MSPs needed to make their business models work.
The first is expected to be launched later this summer.

Along with the Cloud Marketplace
demonstration, Ingram Micro will launch a host of new cloud services from
vendors including BMC Software, Inc., Cisco, N-able Technologies, Siemens
Enterprise Communications, SherWeb, Symantec, Trend Micro and VMware.
