Cisco expanded it’s healthcare line with a network solution designed to deliver more efficient communications for clinicians; InfoSecure, a Converged solutions VAR joined DataPower’s channel expansion to extend deliver an AON solution to its own converged voice and data networks.

  • Cisco Clinical Connection Suite to Improve Communication Solution

    Cisco Systems, Inc. broadened the Cisco Medical-Grade Network with a suite of four network solutions to create more efficient connections between clinicians and the information, people and equipment they need, when they need it.

    The new Cisco Clinical Connection Suite—Nurse Call, Patient Monitoring, Location-Based Services and Collaborative Care—are designed to provide faster, smarter healthcare with the ability to direct, locate and prioritize information for clinicians and their patients, the company said in a release.

    As a result, hospitals realize improved staff productivity, reduced capital and operating costs with extended systems and significantly enhanced quality of care and services.

  • Optimus Solutions Renames its Financial Services Unit

    Optimus Solutions changed the name of its financial services subsidiary to IT Financial Solutions, LLC, to better reflect the unit’s actual business, the company said.

    The unit was previously called Optimus Financial Services, LLC.

    The title switch will clarify the firm’s expertise in providing financial solutions to the IT marketplace.

    Optimus Solutions, based in Norcross, Ga., is a VAR offering financial solutions for IT acquisitions, such as leasing and rental options, which allow companies to avoid technology obsolescence and eliminate risk of ownership.

    Optimus has been an IBM Premier Business Partner, but the company has made moves and acquisitions this year to establish itself as a professional services firm.

  • InfoSecure Joins DataPower’s Expanding Channel

    InfoSecure Open Systems and Solutions, Inc., a converged solution provider, is among 14 new VARs to join DataPower Technology, Inc.’s new channel initiative.

    DataPower, Cambridge, Mass., doubled its PowerLine channel program last month in an effort to reach a broader set of customers with its AON (application-oriented network) infrastructure to optimize and manage XML Web services.

    InfoSecure, Chevy Chase, Md., will meld DataPower’s XML Gateway Security, XG3 and other AON applications to deliver its own open-source network, security and business application solutions for business and government agencies, the company announced this week.

    DataPower sought new partners to extend its reach and expertise to a broader market.

  • Denver-area IT Brains to Discuss Successful Channel Programs

    Denver-area IT executives and channel managers will discuss the organization of a successful vendor channel program at a seminar Oct. 27, in Denver.

    The panel discussion, Delivering Winning Channel Strategies, organized by Enterprise Management Associates, a technology management research and consulting firm, will elaborate on the necessary components of planning and communication between vendors and resellers.

    Panelists are: Lisa Erickson, Research Director at EMA; Mario Arjona, manager of business development at GE Access, a value added distributor; Tom Major, chief strategy officer at LeftHand Networks, a SAN and iSCSI provider; Heather Lindemann, director of business-to-business practice at LeGrand Hart, a public relations firm; Craig Schlagbaum, vice president of channel development at Level3 Communications, Inc., an internet connectivity provider; and moderator Bob Mook, business and technology reporter at the Denver Business Journal.
