vCISO platform and security advising vendor Cynomi announced this week that Dror Hevlin has been appointed as the company’s CISO, effective immediately. Hevlin joins Cynomi after a year-long stint as the CISO of security vendor CyberArk.

Appointment marks the next chapter of Hevlin’s relationship with Cynomi

According to information released by Cynomi, Hevlin’s role will encompass internal and external security strategies that span safeguarding client data, risk management practices, product methodologies, and more. Hevlin will also fill the duties of a traditional field CISO.

“I’m excited to join Cynomi as its new CISO during such an important phase of the company’s growth,” said Hevlin. “As cybersecurity risks continue to grow, it’s important that businesses, especially SMEs, have access to security solutions. Cynomi’s vCISO platform empowers service providers with the tools they need to build cybersecurity strategies effectively. I look forward to working with the team to expand our impact and make cybersecurity more accessible to organizations worldwide.”

Hevlin has served on Cynomi’s CISO Board of Advisors for the past three years, and the company said his tenure in that capacity helped shape Cynomi’s corporate vision since its inception.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dror to the executive team,” said David Primor, Ph.D., co-founder and CEO of Cynomi. “With his familiarity with Cynomi and extensive experience in cybersecurity, Dror will play a pivotal role in strengthening Cynomi’s cybersecurity stance, which we offer to our clients while advancing our strategic goals. We are excited to welcome his dedication and leadership as we continue to grow and innovate as a company.”

Hevlin joins the team after extensive growth in 2024

Hevlin’s new role is the first news of 2025 for Cynomi, but it comes after a busy 2024 that saw product expansion, partner acquisition, and other growth markers for the company.

Cynomi’s vCISO platform aims to automate and enable MSPs and other channel partners who want to offer virtual CISO-as-a-service programs to their customers, a path growing in popularity. The company released its State of the Virtual CISO Report in September, showing as many as 75% of service providers report high demand from their customers for vCISO functionality.

The company also added longtime channel veteran Tim Coach to its leadership in September as the company’s first Chief Evangelist of Community and Channels.
