Trend Micro and Google Cloud are strengthening their long-standing alliance with an expanded partnership that combines Trend Micro’s cybersecurity expertise with Google Cloud’s infrastructure and AI leadership. The joining of these forces is designed to deliver more flexible, secure, and AI-optimized cloud environments, especially for organizations navigating tight and tricky regulatory and sovereignty requirements.
“Our long-time partnership with Trend Micro underscores our shared commitment to enterprise-grade security,” said Karan Bajwa, president, Google Cloud Asia Pacific. “By seamlessly extending Google Cloud’s native security with Trend Micro’s specialized defenses, we empower organizations to accelerate their cloud transformation journeys.”
Tackling sovereign cloud, AI security, and compliance
At the heart of the announcement is the launch of Enterprise AI Security with Google Cloud, a move designed to give organizations, especially those in highly regulated or emerging markets, greater control over sensitive data. The certified solution, Trend Vision One Sovereign and Private Cloud, supports public, hybrid, and even air-gapped on-prem environments through Google Cloud Assured Workloads.
This flexibility helps enterprises to meet security, compliance, and sovereignty requirements without stalling cloud transformation efforts.
As Kevin Simzer, COO, Trend Micro, put it: “Among hyperscalers, we’ve seen Google Cloud accelerate as the most in tune with real-world demands, standing out not only for its cloud infrastructure but also for its leadership across AI, data analytics and multiple other domains. Google Cloud’s hybrid and multi-cloud approach—seamlessly supporting both public and private cloud models—reflects the growing enterprise demand for flexibility.”
And for those looking to simplify procurement and deployment, Trend Micro’s solutions, including its sovereign offerings, are now available on the Google Cloud Marketplace.
Consumer protection and scam prevention, powered by AI
The alliance also targets the consumer side of cybersecurity, where online scams continue to cause more than $1 trillion in global losses. Partnered up, Trend and Google Cloud are exploring new ways to combat this threat, starting with ScamCheck, the first anti-scam app of its kind.
Bolstered by Google’s Gemini models through Vertex AI, ScamCheck can analyze weird, suspicious images and SMS messages to help users spot and avoid scams before they strike.
Meanwhile, Trend’s enterprise-focused Cloud App Security has surpassed 4 million downloads in the Google Workspace Marketplace, indicating strong momentum in the productivity protection space as well.
A strategic step toward AI-first cyber resilience
The fresh alliance and the emphasis on AI-driven defenses, sovereign cloud capabilities, and protections that actually help people make it clear that cybersecurity cannot simply be about keeping pace; it’s about staying ahead.
In February, Trend Micro launched a new AI Agent designed to drive proactive security outcomes. Read more about Trend Cybertron, a specialized cybersecurity large language model (LLM) designed to predict and prevent threats across an organization’s entire attack surface in any environment.
