SAN DIEGO—Cisco Systems on March 16 will launch new communication tools for channel partners intended to better focus the information they get from Cisco and engage users in a cost-effective manner.

The Cisco CPI (Customized Partner Intelligence) tool, made up of the CPI Newsletter and Co-branded Newsletter Tool, allows partners to receive customized and relevant information from Cisco. At the same time, partners can develop and distribute to customers their own co-branded newsletters with integrated tracking functions.

The information gathering and marketing tool is already in use in the United States and has some 200 subscribers to date and averages 25 to 30 articles per week, according to Chuck Robbins, vice president for U.S. and Canada channels at Cisco.

The CPI is a free e-newsletter that provides partners with information on Cisco partner offerings tailored to the specific partner based on preference profiles created by the partner.

The Co-Branded Newsletter Tool allows partners to easily create their own customized newsletters for customers based on Cisco-supplied content, their own content or both. Cisco will make it available worldwide this year.
