Commvault, an organization focused on unified resilience at enterprise scale, has appointed Brian Lanigan as Chief Partner Officer.
Former HP, Splunk channel veteran now leads Commvault’s partner strategy
Lanigan will be tasked with leading the organization’s Global Partner Organization, guiding its global partner strategy, and expanding its ecosystem of hyperscalers, managed service providers (MSPs), distributors, resellers, systems integrators, and strategic technology partners.
“Partners are central to our growth strategy and to helping customers advance resilience readiness in an increasingly complex AI and cyber landscape,” said Geoff Haydon, President of Customer and Field Operations.
“Brian brings significant cybersecurity expertise to Commvault and has a proven track record of building world-class partner programs and driving measurable business results. His leadership and experience make him the ideal person to lead the next chapter of Commvault’s partner ecosystem growth.”
Lanigan brings over 20 years of experience in scaling partner organizations across the cybersecurity and enterprise software industries.
He has held leadership roles at SentinelOne, Lacework, Splunk, and HP Software.
“Commvault has established itself as a trusted leader in AI and cyber resilience, and I’m excited to join the team at such a pivotal time for customers and partners,” said Lanigan. “I look forward to working with our global partner ecosystem to create new opportunities for growth, deliver exceptional customer outcomes, and expand the value Commvault brings to organizations around the world.”
Commvault’s multi-year Microsoft partnership
The news of Lanigan’s addition comes on the heels of Commvault announcing a strategic multi-year partnership with Microsoft.
The partnership will see the two companies collaborate on joint go-to-market initiatives such as co-selling, solution development, and integrated sales motions to accelerate cloud journeys and customer adoption of cyber resilience in Azure.
“For over 25 years, we’ve partnered with Microsoft and now we’re taking that collaboration to the next level,” said Sanjay Mirchandani, President and CEO, Commvault. “Many of our customers rely on Microsoft Azure to scale their business in the cloud, use AI, optimize operations, and bring ideas to life. With this joint commitment, we can also make best-in-class resilience plug-and-play for Microsoft customers.”
According to Commvault, this partnership highlights AI and cyber resilience as enterprises accelerate their move to the cloud, scale AI utilization, and face more complex data security threats.
Commvault AI and cyber resilience solutions now available natively on Azure
Microsoft will offer Commvault’s AI and cyber resilience technologies as a native ISV service on Microsoft Azure, giving Azure customers the ability to discover, provision, and seamlessly integrate Commvault’s resilience capabilities directly from the Azure cloud platform.
The collaboration will provide a unified experience across procurement, onboarding, and operations.
“Customers rely on Azure as a resilient foundation for their cloud and AI workloads,” said Girish Bablani, President of Azure Core at Microsoft. “Supporting Commvault natively gives them more choice in how they protect and recover their data, with a more seamless experience inside Azure.”
