ConnectWise has named Craig Rones its new chief marketing officer as the company looks to sharpen how it takes its AI, automation, and broader platform strategy to MSPs.
Rones will lead global marketing, brand, and demand generation with a focus on helping partners translate ConnectWise’s technology investments into revenue growth, stronger margins, and greater operational leverage.
Craig Rones brings cybersecurity and services experience
Rones brings over 20 years of experience scaling global technology, security, and services organizations, beginning his career as a Certified Public Accountant in corporate finance and turnaround advisory.
Prior to ConnectWise’s appointment, he served as CMO at LevelBlue and Trustwave, leading high-stakes brand positioning and go-to-market strategies.
“Craig is the exact leader we need for this next chapter, and I am thrilled to welcome him to ConnectWise,” said Manny Rivelo, CEO, ConnectWise. “He is a builder who brings an incredible mix of strategic vision, operational depth, and deep empathy for the channel.”
Rivelo added: “Craig understands that a great platform is only as strong as the trust behind it. His track record of building high-performing go-to-market organizations at leading cybersecurity and technology companies will help us elevate our partnership with the MSP community. He is here to ensure that as we advance Predictive IT, our partners have the resources, the clarity, and the support they need to thrive.”
ConnectWise ties marketing strategy to MSP business outcomes
ConnectWise states that this appointment reinforces the company’s commitment to a partner-first, transparent, and proof-based marketing strategy, with his leadership meant to unify ConnectWise’s brand and positioning around a single mission: Helping partners turn platform innovation into measurable business outcomes, grounded in compelling insights, real-world results, and deep MSP community expertise.
“I chose ConnectWise because this company sits at the center of the global MSP and IT ecosystem, with a rapidly evolving AI-native platform, and the passion and depth of its partner community is unrivaled in the industry,” said Rones.
“My focus is on accelerating our platform’s value and delivering real, material outcomes for our partners. We are going to show exactly how native automation and applied AI help partners grow revenue without growing labor – driving operational leverage into stronger margins and enterprise value, securely,” Rones added.
New CMO arrives as ConnectWise pushes Predictive IT
The appointment builds on the June 2026 launch of the ConnectWise platform and its native AI capabilities.
This platform is a new environment that pulls together PSA, RMM, cybersecurity, automation, orchestration, agentic AI, and third-party integrations.
It is meant to bring all of these facets together, so the platform can help drive operational work rather than simply documenting it.
“Managed services are entering a completely new era,” said Rivelo. “For decades, MSPs and IT teams have been forced to scale through labor-intensive operations and disconnected systems. ConnectWise is fundamentally changing the operating model.”
“We are building the first purpose-built MSP System of Action integrating PSA, RMM, workflow orchestration, security, automation, native agentic AI, and an open ecosystem into one intelligent platform designed to help MSPs move from reactive support to Predictive Intelligence,” he added.
