Focus Group has acquired London-based managed service provider Prime Networks, adding roughly 500 customers as the UK technology provider expands its IT, cybersecurity, AI and automation capabilities.
The deal gives Prime Networks customers access to Focus Group’s broader technology portfolio while extending Focus Group’s reach in the UK SME market.
AI, automation and cybersecurity shape the deal
The acquisition means that Prime Networks’ customers will gain access to Focus Group’s capabilities in AI, automation, and IT solutions backed by local specialist support.
“Technology has the power to transform businesses, but only when it’s applied the right way,” said Neil Hall, CEO at Focus Group. “With AI, IT, and cybersecurity now making up more than half of everything we offer, we’re building the expertise to help more SMEs use technology with confidence, not just adopt it for its own sake.”
“Bringing Prime Networks into Focus Group strengthens that mission, giving even more businesses access to specialist support they can rely on,” Hall added.
Prime Networks supports roughly 500 subject-matter-expert customers, delivering IT support, security, and managed services through the Halo PSA platform.
Focus Group, meanwhile, has invested in AI, automation, and IT that strengthens its customer experience (CX) portfolio.
“Prime Networks has built a genuinely well-regarded business, with a team that puts customer service first,” said Laurence Glen, IT and cyber managing director at Focus Group. “That’s exactly the culture we look for, and a natural fit with how we approach IT and cybersecurity.”
Focus Group continues UK acquisition strategy
This is just the latest acquisition for Focus Group, following the previously announced acquisition of Communications Plus, a UK O2 partner.
O2 is a major mobile network operator in the United Kingdom, and the acquisition of Communications Plus enables Focus Group to expand its telecommunications and O2 partnership footprint.
“Focus Group is already a strong partner across the major UK networks, and this acquisition makes us an even more powerful force in the O2 market in particular,” said Tom Jones, Head of Corporate Development at Focus Group. “[Communications Plus’] O2 credentials are unmatched, and the growth they have delivered in recent years is a testament to the strength of the team and the relationships they have built.”
