Telecommunications solutions provider for businesses and government entities, Granite Telecommunications, has been issued a new patent by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for its Greenix technology, a low-code workflow editor designed to streamline and automate complex network deployments.

This is the second patent that Greenix has been awarded in 2024 by the USPTO.

“Granite Labs’ latest patent win is yet another testament to Granite’s commitment to innovation designed to meet customers’ needs,” said Granite President and CEO Rob Hale in a press release. “Greenix has already helped our customers drive measurable results by making network deployment smarter, faster, and more cost-effective.”

Greenix promises faster and more efficient installs

Since its inception, Greenix has been utilized by Granite’s deployment teams to activate more than 75 percent of the solutions that Granite sells and supports. Its first-time-right activation success rate has increased by more than 30 percent and technician time on-site has decreased by over 50 percent.

With this solution, Granite can help partners’ enterprise clients with quick and accurate installs, improving customer satisfaction and retention, and potentially increasing revenue and providing additional upsell opportunities.

The solution also empowers on-site technicians to launch the application on their smartphones and follow prompts to secure and rack equipment, activate services, run speed tests, and perform real-time diagnostics.

The key features and benefits of the solution include:

  • Low-code workflow design that empowers engineers to create and customize workflows without coding, ensuring agility and adaptability for unique deployment needs.
  • Real-time technician support to guide on-site technicians through each step with detailed prompts and visual aids, minimizing errors and expediting installations.
  • Data-driven insights derived from tracking trending issues and activation times to provide data for continuous improvement in deployment processes.

“Greenix has been a game-changer for our deployment process,” said Adam Weiner, Vice President of Technology at Granite and developer of the Greenix platform. “With this patent, Granite is strengthening its leadership in orchestration technology, giving customers the ability to scale deployments like never before. Our clients have seen dramatic improvements in activation times and first-pass success rates, which directly translates to reduced costs and accelerated project timelines.”

Granite’s AI-powered edgeboot product detects and fixes routine issues

Granite’s first patent of 2024 was awarded in May for edgeboot, an AI-driven network management device that detects issues and autonomously executes actions, such as automatic rebooting.

The edgeboot product is an advanced managed power distribution unit (PDU) for network management that combines AI and dual ethernet/LTE technology to continuously monitor network device connectivity.

According to the company, the product swiftly detects issues and autonomously executes necessary actions, such as automatic rebooting, eliminating the need for human intervention.

“edgeboot represents yet another innovative solution born from our commitment to listening to our customers and proactively addressing their needs,” said Hale at the time. “By empowering customers to operate equipment and network connections more effectively and efficiently, edgeboot resolves issues before they even arise. This patent reflects Granite’s commitment to excellence, driven by our team of innovators who work tirelessly to elevate customer outcomes.”
