Less than a year after he joined Autotask, Jay McBain
confirmed in a Facebook post that he is leaving his role as senior vice
president of the professional services automation company, as first
reported in the MSP Mentor blog
today. McBain said more details of the
change would be revealed at the SMB Nation conference in Las Vegas, Sept 30 to
Oct 2.

In a letter to employees first reported in the MSP Mentor
blog Autotask CEO Mark Cattini
tells employees that McBain’s last day in the Autotask office is August 31,
although he will be available to help with the transition.

McBain resigned
from Lenovo
and relocated to Albany, NY to take the position at Autotask in
December 2010. He previously served as director of SMB sales and of channel
sales at Lenovo and lived in Raleigh, N.C.. While at Lenovo his strategy was to
specifically target the managed services provider space. He began his career at
IBM and spent most of it at that company.
