Commvault has teamed up with top cybersecurity companies like Acante, Dasera, Google Cloud, Splunk, and Wiz in a move to strengthen data protection.

The group’s goal in combining forces is to help businesses build stronger defenses against cyberattacks across their entire operation, whether it’s on-site, in the cloud, or a mix of both. These new partnerships are aimed at helping customers:

  • Spot potential threats early: Quickly identify red flags and suspicious activity.
  • Protect sensitive data: Pinpoint where important information is stored and shield it from harm.
  • Speed up recovery: Bounce back faster from cyberattacks with streamlined restoration processes.

Ultimately, this means businesses can use the security, data protection, and recovery tools they prefer while gaining a deeper understanding of risks, better protection, and faster recovery times.

“Commvault is committed to partnering with industry leaders in cyber security, data security posture management (DSPM), and artificial intelligence (AI) with one goal in mind – to help customers advance their security posture,” said Rajiv Kottomtharayil, chief product officer at Commvault, in a press release. “It takes a village to fight today’s cyber threats, and through these integrations, we help enable our customers to build a bridge towards true organizational resilience.”

Why now? The urgent need for cybersecurity

The need for robust cybersecurity solutions has never been more urgent, according to a recent study commissioned by Commvault and conducted by GigaOm. The study found that only 13% of organizations are fully prepared to withstand and recover from cyberattacks, with 54% of these organizations having true confidence in their recovery abilities.

The integrations with these partners are aimed at bolstering data discovery and classification, cyber resilience, and cybersecurity. Here’s how each works:

  • Acante: Simplifying data access while ensuring security and compliance, Acante’s solution is crucial for managing today’s rapidly growing data volumes.
  • Dasera: With a focus on data security posture management (DSPM), Dasera helps organizations identify, protect, and remediate data risks efficiently.
  • Google Threat Intelligence: Leveraging AI, Google’s threat intelligence provides valuable insights to help businesses proactively defend against cyberattacks. Commvault customers can now investigate threats without switching between tools.
  • Splunk: Splunk’s powerful data analytics platform enhances threat detection and response, offering real-time insights for improved security posture.
  • Wiz: Providing comprehensive cloud security, Wiz offers essential visibility and control to safeguard cloud environments.

“The collaboration between Wiz and Commvault delivers cloud security context that enables highly secure backup recoveries with embedded vulnerability patching,” said Oron Noah, vice president of product extensibility and partnership at Wiz. “We’re paving the way for a new era of cloud resilience, where data protection and security go hand in hand.”

These new integrations are available immediately through Commvault and its partners.
