NetSuite to Use Oracle Exadata for Cloud

Cloud-based financial and ERP software suite provider NetSuite has announced a partnership with Oracle to put its cloud offerings on Oracle’s Exadata Database Machine.

NetSuite said that the high level of database performance Exadata enables will provide NetSuite customers with better performance, plus additional security, fault-tolerance and transaction processing advances, without having to make their own investments in database administrators or hardware.

"NetSuite’s strategy has been to bring the power of enterprise-grade technologies to all companies," said Zach Nelson, NetSuite CEO, in a prepared statement. "With the power of Oracle Exadata, NetSuite will be able to enable companies to enjoy Exadata’s extreme performance without taking on additional IT burdens, and at a price point that they can afford."

Oracle’s President Mark Hurd made a surprise appearance at the NetSuite conference in San Francisco this week in conjunction with the NetSuite, Oracle announcement.

"Oracle is the technology that powers the cloud," said Hurd, in a statement. "Oracle and NetSuite share the belief that optimized solutions are the future of technology. Oracle Exadata is hardware and software that is engineered to work together. The combination of Oracle Exadata and NetSuite’s suite of cloud business applications will transform the way companies run their business and bring the power of our technologies to the broad base of customers moving to the cloud."
