Lenovo is getting ready to release in the third quarter its first business ultrabook, the ThinkPad T430u, which sports a compact and lightweight frame of less than 0.8 inches thick and weighing in at less than 4 pounds. The 14-inch notebook, with a base price of $849, also features ThinkPad’s modern and minimalist island-style keyboard, as well as a matte finish and an aluminum top cover.
Other features include choices of the latest Intel Core processors and Intel integrated or Nvidia graphics, a choice of solid-state disk (SSD) storage or up to 1 TB of hard-disk drive (HDD) storage, up to 6 hours of battery life, quick resume and fast boot-up, and the Lenovo Solution Center powered by Intel Small Business Advantage, a set of productivity and security tools that enable overnight energy savings and automatic patch updates.
Lenovo also is announcing its portfolio of small to medium-size business (SMB) notebooks loaded with business technology and personal lifestyle computing features. The portfolio includes the ThinkPad Edge S Series, the ThinkPad Edge E Series and entry-level notebooks in the Lenovo B Series, available in select markets. The S430 notebook offers innovations such as the latest Intel Core processors and Thunderbolt technology, which allows users to transfer a full-length HD movie in less than 30 seconds and back up a year of continuous MP3 playback in just over 10 minutes.
The ThinkPad Edge 11-, 13-, 14- and 15-inch notebooks include technologies like the Solution Center to help solve common IT tasks and offer Intel Core processors or Advanced Micro Devices’ accelerated processing units (APUs) (on the E435 and E535 notebooks) with choices of integrated or discrete graphics. The notebooks also feature fast boot-up, up to 1TB of storage that can be combined with SSD storage, USB 3.0 ports and a high-resolution Web camera.
