Recently, DNSFilter, a leader in cybersecurity threat filtering at the DNS layer, announced its acquisition of Zorus, a provider of endpoint-based web filtering and user behavior analytics.

The acquisition reinforces DNSFilter’s dedication to MSPs and enhances the company’s filtering capabilities. Furthermore, it unites the strengths of both platforms to provide a single, comprehensive security solution.

AI-driven threat intelligence meets deep MSP expertise

Zorus’ advanced endpoint filtering technology and user behavior analytics will integrate with DNSFilter’s AI-driven threat efficacy and robust global network, adopting an MSP-first approach.

“This move brings together the best of both worlds: DNSFilter’s unmatched AI-driven threat intelligence and Zorus’ deep understanding of the MSP space,” said Ken Carnesi, CEO of DNSFilter. “DNSFilter was born in the MSP world, and this acquisition reaffirms that commitment. Brett and his team bring serious talent and focus– they live and breathe MSP. They’re not just joining us; they’re helping lead the charge. Together, we’re building something that raises the bar for what MSPs should expect– and this is just the beginning.”

The key benefits of this acquisition for benefits and MSPs include:

  • Enhanced end-user protection: The merger of the two organizations will offer improved defense against a broader array of threats, both on and off the network. Zorus’s safeguarding of DNS queries before they exit the endpoint complements DNSFilter’s network-level security. Additionally, Zorus will provide comprehensive URL and IP address filtering.
  • Increased resiliency and availability: Through combined infrastructure and expertise, increased resilience and highly available security services will be provided while ensuring business continuity.
  • Double down on partnership with MSPs: Zorus and DNSFilter will prioritize understanding and meeting the unique needs of MSPs. Their commitment to delivering the best service to the MSP community is strengthened.

“Joining forces with DNSFilter marks an exciting new chapter for Zorus and our MSP partners,” said Brett Cheloff, CEO of Zorus and former VP of product at ConnectWise. “We believe that combining our endpoint-first approach and user insights with DNSFilter’s robust network and threat intelligence is a natural fit for both organizations. As the saying goes, ‘If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.’ I look forward to working with Ken and the entire DNSFilter team to deliver a comprehensive security experience that empowers our shared MSP community to reach new heights.”

DNSFilter states that its customers, along with Zorus customers, can expect a seamless and transparent transition, as well as ongoing commitment to their success.
