Hardware-as-a-service provider CharTec announced the development of an
appliance-based solution including LabTech Software, an RMM (remote monitoring
and management) and automation solution for managed service providers.
Available on a HaaS basis for a fixed monthly fee or purchase-to-own licensing
model, the onsite SaaS appliance allows MSPs to deploy network monitoring,
advanced scripting tools, remote desktop, asset management, trouble ticket
tracking, software management and other tools.

The appliance also offers options for implementing antivirus protection in the
form of add-ons and has integration built in with several PSA
applications for even more control in managing the client’s infrastructure.
Fifty-agent bundles begin at $199 per month for both the appliance and software,
with 25-pack add-ons available. The company suggested larger organizations may
find it more cost-effective to purchase, noting the option to switch to a
purchase-to-own licensing model is available at any time. A 36-month agreement
is required, and all hardware and software are backed by warranty.

"Our development of this bundled appliance—and the flexible ways it can be
owned and implemented—reflects our commitment to listening to our customers and
developing creative solutions based on their requirements," said Alex
Rogers, CharTec CEO. "With the
introduction of this RMM bundle, CharTec becomes the only vendor in the market
to offer the channel HaaS/SaaS, ownable and appliance-based solutions."

Matt Nachtrab, LabTech’s CEO, said this
HaaS/SaaS bundle is the best alternative to piecing together an IT management
hardware and software system out of disparate parts. "The partnership with
CharTec allows us to provide the most powerful RMM tool available to even more
IT companies and help them achieve greater efficiency and profitability,” he
said.

Earlier this year CharTec announced a custom-built business continuity solution
that allows MSPs to deploy backup and disaster recovery as a service. The
CharTec BDR (Backup Disaster Recovery)
appliance is an Intel-based server solution that provides backup, disaster
recovery and replication of virtual images to the cloud with nightly
self-testing. The Intel-based BDR appliance
installs at the MSP’s client site and is remotely managed through a Web-based
portal with an RMM agent for alerting and scripting. The unit is also backed by
24/7 U.S.-based help desk support.
