Remote network and systems management software specialist N-able
Technologies announced an OEM agreement with IT management software and
solutions company CA Technologies, designed to help managed service
providers (MSPs) meet the demand for complete remote IT management
services. Under the agreement, N-able will initially market and sell
CA’s Windows-based ARCserve D2D solution to its more than 2,000 MSPs
worldwide, bundling the disk-to-disk remote backup technology with its
N-central remote network and systems management (NSM) platform.

In early 2011, N-able plans to introduce an integrated backup and
offsite replication tool called Remote Backup Manager for N-central
based on CA ARCserve D2D and CA ARCserve Replication. Remote Backup
Manager (CA ARCserve D2D) is a disk-based backup solution that protects
and recovers customers’ business data on both physical and virtual
servers. The solution can be purchased from N-able as a complementary
tool to their N-central remote monitoring and management platform.

CA’s ARCserve D2D product is available now from N-able. All remote
backup offerings are being sold exclusively as an "add-on" to existing
or new N-central 7.0 NSM software platform licenses and are designed to
complement N-able’s Endpoint Security Manager solution, a company
release noted. Adam Famularo, general manager of CA Technologies
recovery management and data modeling customer solutions unit, said by
leveraging the combined solutions of CA and N-able, MSPs will be better
able to help their customers meet the challenges of managing data
protection—helping them to grow market share, revenue and profits.

"The N-central/CA ARCserve D2D bundle allows our mutual MSP partners to
cost-effectively deliver comprehensive and highly robust remote
management services to their customers," added J.P. Jauvin, chief
operating officer at N-able. "Simultaneously, it drives down IT
ownership costs while helping to ensure the reliability, performance
and security of critical business applications."

To expedite adoption of the bundle, N-able is extending a special offer
to MSP partners around the globe. The offer provides CA ARCserve D2D
technology at no charge between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31, 2010 to any MSP or
IT department that downloads the N-central 30-day free trial. "With
this special offer, we’re incenting MSPs to discover for themselves the
exceptional value that N-able’s N-central 7.0 and CA ARCserve D2D
deliver as a bundled solution," Jauvin said. "The highly automated,
high-performance disk-to-disk backup that CA Technologies has developed
delivers compelling economics for MSPs and is becoming a must-have for
those partners that want to capture the expanding market for on-demand,
turnkey IT management."
