Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions Nov. 12 appointed Sean Kerins vice president of its North American Storage Group.

Before Arrow, Kerins spent 10 years at EMC, where most recently he helped establish EMC’s North American Client Solutions Lead Practice, the company said in a statement. Prior to that, as a vice president in EMC’s Technology Solutions Division, he played a lead role in forming EMC’s Storage Consulting business, now a multimillion-dollar venture, the statement said.

Kerins will manage supplier and partner relationships for Arrow ECS’ storage platforms, including EMC, Hitachi Data Systems and Network Appliance, said ECS, a business unit of Arrow Electronics. He will also oversee strategic partnerships, sales, marketing and finance functions, and a team of about 300 within Arrow ECS’ Storage Group.

Arrow also unveiled a plan to expand its midmarket offerings and services to help partners delve deeper into that market segment.

“We are offering more than 40 end-to-end solutions that partners can choose from to address the business needs of medium-sized companies. These solutions are supported by a comprehensive set of services that enable our partners to successfully sell to the midmarket,” Kevin Gilroy, president of Arrow ECS, said in a statement.

The prepackaged offerings consist of hardware and software products from IBM, Oracle, Symantec, Citrix, VMware and others, Arrow said. The solutions will focus on key areas such as storage, security, virtualization, collaboration and data management, the statement said.

Online marketing, financing, engineering and presales support tools are also available to help partners efficiently reach the midmarket segment, the distributor said. Arrow ECS will also offer security assessments, on-site engineering and call.
