Australian security specialist MSP Tesserent has simultaneously achieved Microsoft Solutions Partner status in three new areas.

These areas are security, Azure infrastructure, and modern work. The company claims that this achievement demonstrates Tesserent’s strategic alignment with Microsoft’s advanced technological ecosystem and its commitment to enhancing service delivery in these critical areas.

Patrick Butler, managing partner of managed and professional services at Tesserent, said that the investment in Microsoft is a consequence of the closeness with which its customers use the technology. “Businesses across the region rely heavily on Microsoft solutions to deliver mission-critical IT services,” Butler said.

“Given this reliance, and with Microsoft not providing services to implement and manage their solutions, it’s fundamental for us to support our clients in maximizing their investments while ensuring top-tier cybersecurity resilience.”

Tesserent will now focus on achieving further Microsoft certifications in two areas: data and AI, and apps and innovation.

Butler said these objectives reinforce Tesserent’s broader mission to be a leading voice in the role that cybersecurity plays across multiple emerging technologies.

“As one of the region’s leading service providers, helping our clients safely maximize their Microsoft investment is essential for solving their challenges,” he said.

“Recently, this has led to a significant focus on AI, with Tesserent delivering a range of AI-focused services for clients wishing to leverage the benefits while minimizing risk.”

2024 has been a generally good year for security-specialist MSPs and MSSPs, especially those that can help their partners address the lack of cybersecurity skills available in the market. With more than 500 cyber security specialists in the company, Tesserent is one of the larger companies in the space in Australia.

Butler said that it was becoming more important to be able to wear more hats for its customers, given the market conditions. “Many businesses are under increased pressure to demonstrate efficiency and cost savings, leading to a trend of consolidating suppliers,” he said.

This consolidation trend is both a challenge and an opportunity for Tesserent, particularly in helping clients streamline their cybersecurity needs with fewer service providers, a key growth area for the company. “The key challenge is ensuring these technologies bring the intended benefits, which requires expert implementation and managed services tied to business risks,” Butler said.
