Zenarmor, a network security organization, allows partners to deliver omnipresent security that follows users, applications, and data across on-prem, cloud, edge, and remote environments using a single-app, single-stack, single-pass Secure Access Secure Edge (SASE) platform.
The organization is changing how SASE is delivered through the channel, offering a distributed, partner-operated SASE delivery model.
In an exclusive interview, Zenarmor CEO Murat Balaban explained that businesses of all sizes have become increasingly distributed as employees work from anywhere using laptops and cloud-based tools.
This shift generated a challenge for traditional network security models, which were originally designed around protecting users and devices inside a centralized corporate perimeter.
Why distributed organizations are moving beyond traditional SASE
Balaban explained that security must evolve alongside this transformation.
“When you look at the past 10-to-15 years, the way modern organizations are doing business is changing,” said Balaban. “The organizations are becoming more and more agile and they are becoming more and more distributed. The moment you give somebody a laptop, and the moment they have the flexibility of working with a laptop, the organization becomes a distributed organization.”
As employees increasingly work from remote environments, organizations need protection that follows users and networks wherever they operate rather than relying solely on centralized office-based security infrastructure.
Balaban also described the limitation in current security approaches: many existing SASE solutions still rely on centralized inspection points.
Zenarmor’s plug-and-play distributed security approach
The organization’s core differentiation is its “SASE anywhere” architecture, designed to deliver enterprise-grade security wherever network access exists.
Instead of forcing organizations to send traffic back to centralized inspection points, Zenarmor’s approach places security capabilities closer to users, endpoints, cloud environments, and branch locations.
“This is why we came up with this plug SASE anywhere architecture, where you can plug network security wherever you have some kind of network access,” said Balaban. “It can be a user’s laptop, it can be a cloud instance, it can be a branch location. Wherever you have network access, you just plug Zenarmor in and you have the security.”
He explained that Zenarmor combines these capabilities into a single application rather than relying on multiple products stitched together through acquisitions and integrations. This unified approach is intended to provide customers with greater flexibility, agility, and performance.
Expanding through channel partners remains a priority
Expanding through channel partners is a significant priority for Zenarmor, with Balaban explaining that partners provide valuable regional expertise as they understand the specific threats and security needs of the customers they serve.
“One of our biggest priorities right now is increasing our visibility within the channel,” Balaban explained. “For Zenarmor, channel partners are a key fundamental stakeholder in our business model. And we are looking to deliver the technology through channel partners.”
The company launched its global channel program in February to target MSPs, MSSPs, and other security-focused partners.
“Zenarmor gives us the ability to deliver SASE as a distributed service without sacrificing performance or control,” said Bugra Gumus, the CEO of Los Angeles-based MSP Silvercloud Security and Technology Solutions, at the time.
Partners and customers retain control over delivery
Zenarmor’s partner-delivered SASE model allows partners to host and operate Zenarmor infrastructure within their own environments, giving them greater control over security delivery.
Balaban positions this as an important differentiator because customers and partners maintain more control over infrastructure, enforcement, and deployment.
“Partners have a front row seat into what’s happening in the field, and by Zenarmor empowering them with the right tools and right technology, I think the combined efforts are going to be able to provide a lot better security and a lot better protection for the partners in the region,” said Balaban.
The future of SASE: A more distributed landscape
Balaban said he believes that the future of SASE will follow the same direction as modern businesses: becoming increasingly more distributed.
Security solutions will need to adapt by moving away from centralized models as organizations operate more locations, networks, devices, and cloud environments.
“The distributed nature of network security is going to only increase. With SASE, our expectation is that SASE and network security is also going to evolve into a more distributed nature as well,” said Balaban. “This is where Zenarmor is really positioned in a niche perspective, with the right technology, with the right vision and position to take part in this direction.”
Zenarmor’s distributed architecture positions the company for this shift by allowing security to be deployed wherever organizations need protection, while also enabling ISPs and partners to deliver security services at scale.
