Blue Mantis, a security-first IT services provider, has recently introduced Blue Mantis Protect, a fully managed cybersecurity service designed for mid-market organizations.

This service combines AI-powered threat detection with human cybersecurity expertise to help IT teams secure their infrastructure.

Mid-market clients gain power of SOC without in-house prices

Blue Mantis Protect addresses the requirements of mid-sized businesses for a fraction of the cost of an in-house SOC. The service offers 24/7/365 AI-enhanced threat detection and response, proactive dark web monitoring, comprehensive vulnerability management, and threat hunting – all fully managed by Blue Mantis’ security analysts under a predictable subscription model.

“Midmarket organizations face the same cybersecurity threats as large enterprises, but often without the in-house resources to defend against them,” said Josh Dinneen, CEO of Blue Mantis. “Mantis Protect is purpose-built to close that gap and strengthen their defense posture, delivering enterprise-grade protection without the capital and operational burden of running an in-house SOC.”

Full suite of solutions addresses MDR, EDR, email security, and other top priorities

Blue Mantis Protect includes an ecosystem of nine solutions to be deployed individually or collectively, including:

  1. Managed Detection and Response (MDR): Real-time threat detection and live incident response powered by a cloud-native platform and adaptive machine learning models.
  2. Managed EDR/XDR: Continuously monitors and protects every device, whether on-site or remote, with custom policies that adapt and automatically respond to evolving risks.
  3. Managed Email Security: Proactively blocks phishing, malware, and account takeovers before they reach a user’s inbox.
  4. Managed Cloud Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP): Delivers full visibility into cloud risks across AWS, Azure, GCP, and Kubernetes.
  5. Managed Secure Service Edge (SSE): Enforces zero-trust access, while keeping remote workforces secure, without slowing productivity and replacing vulnerable VPNs.
  6. Threat hunting: Proactively detects hidden threats before they impact operations.
  7. Vulnerability management: Continuously scans, assesses, and prioritizes security gaps and vulnerabilities within networks, applications, and devices.
  8. Dark web monitoring: Automates analysis of 3.5 million daily events to identify exposed employee credentials and sensitive information.
  9. GRC as a Service: Simplifies compliance and risk management for frameworks like NIST CSF, PCI DSS, HIPAA, and others.

“We needed to consolidate and simplify our security and IT operations,” said James Aikman, the head of IT and operations at a major publishing company. “Our previous MSSP experience was fragmented and not aligned with our desired security posture. Mantis Protect is addressing these issues by unifying xDR, MDR, vulnerability management, threat hunting, with traditional IT managed services across our complete enterprise.”

Mantis Protect becomes a force multiplier when combined with Blue Mantis’ broader managed services portfolio. It enables customers to transition from reactive to proactive and predictive security operations with unified visibility, control, and confidence.

Security alerts top 3,000 a day as companies struggle to keep up

These new AI-powered cybersecurity services come at an opportune time for security teams. A recent report conducted by Prophet Security found that enterprises of 20,000+ employees face over 3,000 security alerts daily and that AI for security is a top-three priority for organizations.

According to the aforementioned report, 83 percent of respondents believe that over half of SOC workloads will be completed by AI within the next three years.

“With Mantis Protect, midmarket enterprises gain a seamlessly integrated solution that immediately enhances their defense posture,” said Jay Martin, CISO at Blue Mantis. “It’s a practical response to the complexity and fatigue IT teams face– engineered to deliver measurable impact without disrupting day-to-day operations.”

AI has provided organizations with numerous opportunities to proactively enhance their cybersecurity posture, but it can also create new attack vectors. Read more about new research from Radware that indicates AI agent ecosystems are creating an exploitable attack surface for adversaries.
