The month of July was marked by several key acquisition moves, particularly in the AI and cybersecurity arenas.

AI agents and tools have their uses, but the greatest security measures will have to be adopted at the same rate as AI– and channel organizations recognize that.

Each month, Channel Insider brings you up-to-date recaps on which mergers and acquisitions highlight the most significant trends in the channel. Let’s catch up on a few of the signature M&A moves from July:

Palo Alto Networks acquires Protect AI

Palo Alto Networks, a global cybersecurity provider, has acquired Protect AI, an organization focused on securing AI applications and models.

Through the acquisition, Palo Alto Networks will continue to help meet the demands of organizations for comprehensive AI security, enabling them to utilize AI for innovation.

“The promise of AI is immense, but so are the security risks. Our customers are moving quickly to adopt AI and are asking for a partner who can secure their entire AI ecosystem at scale,” said Anand Oswal, SVP and GM of Network Security, Palo Alto Networks. “Protect AI’s capabilities are a powerful complement to our innovative Prisma AIRS platform, and scales our ability to provide both depth and breadth in AI security to deliver protection across the entire AI lifecycle.”

Protect AI’s technology and expertise will be key to Prisma AIRS, Palo Alto Networks’ AI security platform. Bringing Protect AI into the Palo Alto Networks ecosystem will bring model scanning, posture management, AI red teaming, runtime protection, and AI agent security to Prisma AIRS which will enable businesses to deploy AI-driven innovation with strong security posture.

White Label Communications acquires Grupo NGN

White Label Communications (WLC), a provider of white-lablel UCaaS, CPaaS, and CCaaS solutions, announced the acquisition of Grupo NGN, a provider of optichannel AI-powered contact center communications solutions.

The move is meant to bolster WLC’s private-label voice solutions portfolio and deepen its CCaaS capabilities.

“Bringing Grupo NGN into the fold is a pivotal moment in our growth strategy,” said Thomas Joseph, Founder and CEO of WLC. “Grupo NGN’s cutting-edge platform and visionary team will be instrumental in shaping the next generation of contact center experiences, further empowering our Partners’ cross sell, upsell, and retention efforts. The NGNCloudComm product alone doesn’t just strengthen our CCaaS portfolio– it redefines it. As the demand for agile, cloud-based contact center solutions accelerates– driven by rising customer expectations and the need for seamless engagement– this move positions us to lead with even greater impact.”

According to stats provided by Fortune Business Insights, the CCaaS market is projected to grow to $24.45 billion by 2032 with a CAGR of 19 percent.

TD SYNNEX makes Apptium acquisition

TD SYNNEX has acquired Apptium, expanding its StreamOne management platform along with its cloud and everything-as-a-service offerings.

Apptium, a software development company and provider of a cloud commerce platform that connects applications, data, and devices, was already a key enabler of the StreamOne platform. Now, through this acquisition, Apptium and TD SYNNEX will combine the power of their technology, communications, services, and managed solutions expertise.

“In addition to the excellent team and the capabilities that they have, was the opportunity to provide the platform that we provide in our normal distribution business to customers that don’t necessarily buy from us,” said Sergio Farache, Chief Strategy and Technology Officer, in a conversation with Channel Insider. “In addition to that, Apptium has been very successful participating in the telco industry, has several important telco customers, and it’s a segment that we want to continue developing.”

Evergreen makes acquisition of ImageQuest

To continue key investments in security- and compliance-specialized MSPs and MSSPs, Evergreen, a family of managed IT services and software partners, has acquired ImageQuest, a provider of managed IT, cybersecurity, and compliance solutions.

ImageQuest provides services to clients in highly regulated industries, including financial services, and has built a strong reputation for its proactive service approach and trusted client relationships.

“We look for three non-negotiables in every IT services and software partner we acquire: strong leadership, a clear market edge, and a culture that consistently delivers excellence,” said Ramsey Sahyoun, M&A Partner at Evergreen. “Milton and the team have built something special at ImageQuest, and we’re proud to be part of the journey and accelerate their success at scale.”

Commvault announces intent to acquire Satori Cyber

Provider of cyber resilience and data protection solutions for the hybrid cloud, Commvault, has proposed a deal to acquire Satori Cyber, a data and AI security company.

The proposed acquisition would enable Commvault to bolster its data and AI security capabilities, helping organizations further support compliance requirements, mitigate risks, and control access to sensitive data. Further, it will boost LLM monitoring and prompt protection, automated discovery, classification, and access management for structured data.

“As enterprises accelerate AI and modern data platform adoption, securing sensitive data across distributed environments grows increasingly complex,” said Rajiv Kottomtharayil, Chief Product Officer, Commvault. “By integrating Satori’s real-time, agentless controls and deep visibility into structured and AI training data, we’re extending our cyber resilience into the data layer– enabling secure data access, AI governance, and policy enforcement across platforms like Snowflake, Redshift, and Databricks to reduce risk and drive compliant innovation.”

Amplitude brings Kraftful into the fold

Amplitude has acquired Kraftful, an AI-native Voice of Customer (VoC) startup, to bolster its AI strategy and provide teams with a comprehensive view of their customers, enabling them to build better products and digital experiences.

Amplitude, a digital analytics platform, will utilize the newly acquired capabilities of Kraftful to gain a comprehensive understanding of what customers are doing and saying within the Amplitude platform.

“Kraftful and Amplitude  share a deep belief: that listening to your users is the key to building great products,” said Spencer Skates, CEO and co-founder of Amplitude. “Today, Amplitude customers can easily see what users are doing, but not always why. Kraftful helps us close that gap. We’re excited to bring Kraftful’s capabilities into Amplitude to power more comprehensive insights, faster feedback loops, and smarter AI agents.”

Kraftful will embed VoC capabilities into the Amplitude platform and accelerate AI use, driving higher NPS, better retention, and stronger feature adoption outcomes.

Darktrace acquires Mira Security

AI cybersecurity provider Darktrace continued the trend for the month, with AI security leaders making moves to bolster their services through the acquisition of Mira Security, a provider of network traffic visibility solutions.

Darktrace and Mira Security have already established a partnership, but the acquisition will enhance Darktrace’s network security leadership by providing deeper insight into encrypted network traffic, more comprehensive decryption for customers in regulated industries, and will be key in developing Darktrace’s next-generation technologies.

“The acquisition of Mira Security is another building block in our strategy to develop best-in-class cybersecurity solutions and keep our customers safe through continuous innovation,” said Phil Pearson, Chief Strategy Officer at Darktrace. “Mira Security has already proven to be a valuable source of insight for our AI, helping us provide unparalleled detection and response capabilities at scale. By bringing the Mira Security team’s deep expertise into Darktrace, we will be able to accelerate innovation, deepen the capabilities of our market-leading Network product and unlock even greater security performance for our customers.”

Darktrace views this move as another step in investing in both organic and inorganic growth and innovation across its cybersecurity platform.

LevelBlue makes Trustwave acquisition

LevelBlue, a provider of cloud-based, AI-driven managed security services (MSS), is acquiring Trustwave, a global provider of cybersecurity and managed detection and response services.

“The acquisition of Trustwave represents a pivotal moment for LevelBlue and the cybersecurity industry,” said Robert McCullen, Chairman and CEO of LevelBlue. “Trustwave’s extensive expertise in managed detection and response services, combined with its unparalleled threat intelligence from SpiderLabs and mission-critical FedRAMP and StateRAMP authorizations, perfectly aligns with our vision to deliver simplified and powerful cybersecurity protection to organizations. This strategic move reflects our commitment to delivering better cybersecurity outcomes to our customers and enhances our global go-to-market capabilities, as well as in the U.S. federal, state, and local government markets.”

With Trustwave’s recently acquired full authorized status by FedRAMP (Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program) and its StateRAMP authorization, LevelBlue will be able to meet the U.S. Department of Defense’s “U.S. eyes only” requirement for the Defense Industrial Base and Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) for MDR services across federal, state, and local government markets.
