IT and electronics distribution veteran Ken Lamneck is leaving his post as
president of the Americas at IT distributor Tech Data to join large account
reseller Insight Enterprises, where he will serve as president and CEO
and also sit on the board of directors, starting Jan. 1.

“We are very pleased that Ken will join Insight as its new President and CEO,”
said Timothy Crown, chairman of the board at Insight, in a statement “He brings
a wealth of strategic and operational experience that is well aligned to the
needs of Insight, particularly his proven track record of driving operational
execution and increasing shareholder value for global enterprises in our
industry.”

Tech Data has started the search for a replacement for Lamneck, the company
said.  Lamneck’s move comes after a long career in distribution, with the
last six years at Tech Data.

“We thank Ken for all his contributions throughout the years and wish him the
best of luck in his new endeavor,” said Tech Data CEO
Bob Dutkowsky, in a statement. “Under Ken’s leadership, our Americas
management team—comprised of senior distribution executives with decades of
industry experience — has positioned Tech Data for long-term growth and success
throughout the region.”

Lamneck brings more than 20 years of industry experience to Insight, having
held executive management positions at Tech Data and Arrow Electronics. He also
served as vice president of sales and marketing at Netopia, a networking
hardware and software provider, and vice president of Anthem Electronics, a
semiconductor and computer products distributor.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the United
States Military Academy
at West Point and an MBA from the University
of Texas at El
Paso.

“Insight has a clear strategy and a strong foundation from which to grow,”
Lamneck said in a statement. “I look forward to leading the company through its
next phase of development as a trusted provider of technology solutions
worldwide.”
