Accounting, finance, and HR technology provider Sage has announced two updates ahead of its annual Sage Future conference: the expansion of its Sage Intacct Advisory program and the launch of its Sage HCM solution.

Both moves are positioned to streamline workflows, introduce more industry-specific capabilities, and help organizations better leverage AI across their operations.

Scaling services without increasing overhead

Sage has debuted new AI-powered capabilities in Sage Intacct Advisory, an evolution of its Sage Intacct Advisory Program, to help accounting firms expand advisory services and better support growing businesses.

According to Sage, the upgrade enhances Sage Intacct with a more structured, service-led approach, using AI-powered workflows and industry-specific templates and tools to streamline client onboarding and delivery.

Sage says accounting firms can leverage the new capabilities to scale repeatable advisory services across their client base, driving growth and efficiency. In addition, they can continue to support large, complex clients with bespoke needs – without increasing headcount.

“Accounting firms are being asked to do more than ever before: deliver deeper insights, meet rising compliance demands and do it all with less access to talent,” said Gretchen O’Hara, executive vice president of strategic partnerships and business development at Sage.

“With Sage Intacct Advisory, firms can standardize delivery, reduce manual work, and spend more time where they add the greatest value – helping clients make smarter strategic decisions,” O’Hara added.

New capabilities join the existing Sage Intacct platform to reduce manual effort in advisory services

Built on the Sage Intacct platform, the company says these new capabilities were designed to help firms manage multiple client environments more consistently with less time spent on routine tasks..

Key benefits include:

  • Faster client onboarding through standardized industry templates and data migration tools
  • Reduced manual effort with AI-powered workflows and automation
  • Greater consistency across multiple client environments
  • The ability to support clients as they grow, from core financial management to more advanced reporting and advisory services

Connecting workforce and financial data with Sage HCM

Sage has also unveiled Sage HCM, a new human capital management solution for mid-market organizations in North America.

Integrated with Sage Intacct, Sage HCM connects HR, payroll, and workforce data with financial management to provide organisations with clearer visibility and control over workforce costs.

The platform also aims to improve overall payroll accuracy and support more informed workforce planning, particularly as workforce costs remain a major expense for many organizations.

“HR, payroll and finance data should not sit in separate systems,” said Jonathan Cowan, executive vice president HCM, platform strategy and operations at Sage.

“With Sage HCM, organizations can connect workforce and financial data in one place, improve visibility into labor costs, strengthen payroll accuracy and make better workforce planning decisions. By bringing these workflows together on the Sage platform, we’re helping customers operate with greater clarity, control and confidence.”

Launching alongside Sage HCM are two industry-specific offerings: Sage HCM for Construction and HCM Agent—tailored solutions designed to streamline operations for targeted industries.

Sage HCM for Construction

Sage HCM for Construction extends HCM capabilities for firms managing complex, project-based labor operations. It supports union rules, certified payroll, and prevailing wage requirements, while linking labor data directly to project financials.

In an official press release, Alliance Solutions Group CEO Dustin Stephens emphasized how solutions like Sage HCM for Construction help organizations consolidate siloed data into a single source for improved visibility.

“For many construction businesses, labor costs are one of the biggest drivers of project

performance, but payroll, HR and finance data often sit in separate systems,” said Stephens.

“Bringing these together gives customers a clearer view of labor costs, improves payroll accuracy and helps them make better decisions at both project and business level. This gives customers stronger control over project performance and supports more predictable, profitable outcomes,” Stephens added.

AI-powered support for HR and payroll workflows

Meanwhile, Sage’s HCM Agent marks the company’s first AI agent dedicated to HR and payroll

workflows.

Sage says its new HCM Agent can help organizations streamline tasks such as payroll preparation, validation and reconciliation, while also being able to highlight potential compliance risks and reduce manual effort.

The HCM Agent is designed to improve efficiency and accuracy without reducing oversight, helping teams automate routine work while maintaining control over critical processes such as payroll and compliance.

This isn’t Sage’s first venture into dedicated agentic solutions. Last year, Sage also debuted its Finance Intelligence Agent, an AI tool in Sage Intacct that delivers real-time insights and automates finance workflows.

The release of its HCM Agent reinforces the company’s broader strategy of offering domain-specific AI agents, purpose-built for each industry.

Sage will showcase both the expanded Sage Intacct Advisory program and Sage HCM at its Sage Future conference, to be held in San Francisco from April 28-30.
