Cynomi has announced a strategic partnership with SPECTRA, the MSP certification and cyber resilience warranty platform.
The partnership gives Cynomi partners a direct, in-platform path to SPECTRA Certification, allowing them to validate the security services they deliver, offer warranty-backed protection to clients, and potentially reduce cyber insurance costs for both MSPs and their customers.
Demonstrating security effectiveness
Cynomi and SPECTRA said the partnership is intended to help MSPs demonstrate the effectiveness of the security services they provide through independent certification, rather than relying solely on vendor claims.
Under the integration, SPECTRA’s certification criteria map directly to the self-assessment data and control evidence that Cynomi partners already maintain in the platform. According to the companies, this allows MSPs to move from assessment to independently validated certification in days instead of the weeks or months typically required for a standalone audit.
“MSPs are the most important line of defense for small- and mid-sized businesses, but for years, insurers haven’t had a reliable way to evaluate them at scale,” said Edouard von Herberstein, founder and CEO at SPECTRA.

Benefits gained from certification
Once certified, Cynomi partners can offer SpectraCare, SPECTRA’s cyber resilience warranty program, which provides warranty coverage of up to $1 million per client at its highest tier.
The warranty applies across several managed security services, including managed detection and response (MDR), firewall management, disaster recovery, backup, endpoint security, and business email compromise protection. Each service category has its own eligibility and performance requirements.
For example, under the MDR warranty, coverage applies if a ransomware or malware incident occurs and the affected endpoint cannot be isolated and recovered within a specified timeframe.
According to the companies, certified partners may also qualify clients for cyber insurance discounts of up to 35%, while reducing their own errors-and-omissions insurance premiums by up to 25%. The certification also provides access to SPECTRA’s network of participating insurers and brokers.
SPECTRA, founded in 2022, works with cyber insurance carriers and brokers, including Lloyd’s of London syndicates, Dual, and Ledgebrook, to certify MSPs against standards aligned with participating insurers’ underwriting requirements.
Cynomi highlights certification as a differentiator
Cynomi said it is the first governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) and security program management platform to integrate directly with SPECTRA at the assessment level.

According to Cynomi, the partnership is designed to give partners three primary benefits: independent validation of the security services they already provide, a way to differentiate their offerings through certification, and financial benefits for both MSPs and their clients through warranty-backed protection and potential cyber insurance savings.
The company added that the program is already being used by early participants.
