TD SYNNEX wants resellers to spend less time searching for prices, inventory, and order details. Its latest PartnerFirst expansion brings AI agents into the applications partners already use, with a connector that gives those tools access to distributor data.

At its Inspire conference in South Carolina on Oct. 8, the company unveiled the update for North American partners. The new Model Context Protocol (MCP) connector supports 53 business operations, while Agent Bridge offers a marketplace of prebuilt AI agents. The PartnerFirst Agent also gained 40 additional features. The update introduces lifecycle coaching and self-service reporting. For resellers and MSPs, the question is whether these tools can speed up quoting, order tracking, and renewals without adding extra work.

MCP connects AI tools to quoting, pricing, and inventory

PartnerFirst Digital Bridge’s MCP connector gives partner-built AI applications governed access to product, customer, pricing, inventory, quoting, and order information. Agent Bridge adds a builder and marketplace of ready-to-use agents, while the existing PartnerFirst Agent now handles more transaction-related tasks.

The new capabilities target several everyday reseller workflows:

CapabilityWhat it could do for partners
MCP connectorAccess 53 PartnerFirst business operations through external AI tools
Agent BridgeBuild or configure AI agents that connect existing systems with PartnerFirst data and capabilities
PartnerFirst AgentUse 40 additional features for product searches, pricing, quotes, orders, returns, and cloud subscriptions
Customer Lifecycle AI Business CoachIdentify renewal risks and sales opportunities, with eight more supported vendors
Build Your Own ReportsGenerate, schedule, and share customer-specific reports covering transactions and subscriptions

TD SYNNEX reported more than 65,000 active users across its digital offerings. The update aims to bring transaction data into existing workflows, so partners don’t have to switch between systems.

Marco reports time savings as Rhino eyes order automation

Marco Technologies President Clay Ostlund said his team had already used the MCP connector to retrieve information more quickly.

“What used to take us hours now takes us minutes,” Ostlund said in TD SYNNEX’s announcement. His account describes one customer’s experience, not a performance benchmark across the distributor’s partner network.

Rhino Networks Chief Operating Officer Rikki Gates described a different opportunity. She told CRN the tools could eventually help staff assemble bills of materials from customer requirements and check purchase orders, shipments, and estimated delivery dates without emailing teams for updates.

Those are potential uses she hopes to test, not measured results.

For resellers, faster answers could mean getting proposals to customers sooner. For MSPs, lifecycle coaching could help teams spot renewal risks and expansion opportunities while there is still time to act.

Resellers should test AI workflows before scaling

The update builds on PartnerFirst’s earlier expansion into lifecycle analytics and integrations. The new capabilities could save partners time, but the benefits will depend on how they use them. A hardware reseller might test product recommendations during inventory shortages, while an MSP could focus on subscription renewals and customer adoption data.

Before expanding their use of AI agents, partners should consider three priorities:

  • Start with one workflow. Test quoting, order tracking, or renewal management where manual processes slow operations.
  • Verify access and costs. Confirm pricing, eligibility, and rollout details with TD SYNNEX. Review data permissions and approval requirements before connecting agents to customer records or transactions.
  • Measure accuracy and efficiency. Track quote turnaround times, order-status resolution, and how often employees must correct AI-generated information.

TD SYNNEX said the additional PartnerFirst Agent features and Customer Lifecycle AI Business Coach are now available, but did not provide detailed pricing or account-level eligibility requirements.

For resellers and MSPs, the next step is to test one workflow and measure whether it delivers faster quotes, fewer order-status inquiries, or earlier renewal alerts. Expand only when the tools reduce manual work without increasing errors or employee correction time.
