ATS launched its Avnet Cloud Solutions team in May 2012. The group offers a portfolio of integrated and packaged cloud offerings and services to VAR, ISV and MSP partners. One of the latest offerings is cloud services from SoftLayer, acquired by IBM in 2013.

2 - Tapping Into Converged ComputingTapping Into Converged Computing

Avnet supports converged products based on the industry’s big guns: Cisco, HP and IBM. The distributor also works with EMC, HDS, SAP, NetApp and VCE. A recent addition is application-based offerings for the HP ConvergedSystem portfolio. These are purpose-built IT systems for workloads such as virtualization, hosted desktops and big data.

3 - Software-DrivenSoftware-Driven

Grabbing a bigger piece of the IT enterprise software buy, Avnet expanded its distribution agreement with SAP last year. Channel partners in the U.S. and Canada can now sell analytics, database and technology, and enterprise mobility offerings from SAP. This includes the SAP HANA in-memory database management platform to garner more converged infrastructure opportunities in the data center.

ATS launched Avnet Practice+ for Analytics last year for HP partners focused on big data and analytics. The first channel-ready introduction was the HP Vertica Analytics Platform, delivering packaged offerings of services, software and hardware for big data initiatives.

ATS provides vertical market expertise through its SolutionsPath methodology for government, health care, retail, finance and energy, helping partners sell big data, cloud, converged and mobility to these specific markets.

For partners in the health care industry, ATS launched a Healthcare Analytics Platform, designed to integrate medical, operational and financial data from multiple IT systems for a single, secure view of patient information. The first two modules focus on readmissions and population health to improve patient care and outcomes.

9 - IBM TrainerIBM Trainer

ATS was selected as an IBM global training provider in 2014, expanding its nearly 30-year distribution relationship with IBM. The distributor now offers in-depth training programs around the entire IBM portfolio to its global reseller partners.

10 - Global EfficiencyGlobal Efficiency

Avnet Services combines the distributor’s aftermarket and technology lifecycle service businesses of Avnet Integrated with services and software operations from recent acquisitions, including Ascendant Technology, Brightstar Partners, Canvas Systems, Genilogix, Mattelli, Pepperweed Consulting and TSSLink.
