As Cybersecurity Awareness Month comes to a close, one theme that’s stood out across the industry is the renewed focus on Zero Trust and Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA). Over the past year, more vendors have introduced products or updates built around Zero Trust principles.

This roundup highlights recent announcements from across the IT channel that illustrate how Zero Trust is being implemented in practice, from SASE platforms to identity and access innovations.

SASE solutions implementing Zero Trust

Several recent launches show how Zero Trust principles are becoming foundational to Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) offerings. Vendors are leveraging the two architectures to strengthen network protection and enable MSPs and IT teams to deliver scalable, cloud-native defenses for modern environments.

Omega Systems rolls out SASE solution built on ZTNA

Omega Systems, a managed IT and cybersecurity services provider, launched a new managed SASE solution called Smart Secure Edge.

Built on ZTNA principles, Smart Secure Edge delivers identity-based access, content filtering, and other capabilities for cloud-forward businesses and distributed workforces seeking secure remote connectivity.

Omega Systems COO Ben Tercha noted that a ZTNA-based SASE solution enables MSPs and MSSPs to offer customers a cost-efficient security solution, with less operational overhead and recurring revenue opportunities.

“For service providers, a SASE solution with Zero Trust architecture delivers network security protections without heavy investment in new infrastructure. It’s a managed, scalable service they can offer to customers who want modern, cloud-native protection but lack the in-house resources to run it themselves,” said Tercha.

WatchGuard releases hybrid SASE platform for MSPs, IT Teams

In September, WatchGuard Technologies launched FireCloud Total Access—a hybrid SASE platform that offers enterprise-grade zero-trust protection to MSPs and small to mid-sized IT teams.

The service combines Secure Web Gateway (SWG), Firewall-as-a-Service (FWaaS), and ZTNA into a single platform. Tied into WatchGuard’s ecosystem, the company said the integration between the solutions allows MSPs and smaller IT teams to deliver stronger protection with reduced management overhead.

“Remote work and hybrid networks are now permanent, and organizations need a simpler way to enforce Zero Trust while protecting users everywhere,” said Andrew Young, chief product officer at WatchGuard.

Kyndryl introduces SASE Collaboration with Palo Alto Networks

IT infrastructure and services provider Kyndryl announced a collaboration with Palo Alto Networks in February to deliver new secure access service edge (SASE) offerings, providing customers with cloud-first, zero-trust network security solutions.

These new end-to-end SASE services integrate with Palo Alto Networks Prisma SASE, powered by Precision AI, to help organizations securely innovate with AI while adopting a zero-trust approach to defend against advanced cyber threats.

Kyndryl’s offering includes its Consult Advisory Services to assess and recommend the optimal SASE and zero-trust approach to customers, based on their specific business goals and priorities.

Institutionalizing and expanding Zero Trust

Meanwhile, other announcements highlight how Zero Trust is broadening in scope—extending to new layers such as browsers, identities, and unmanaged devices —while also emerging as a compliance and governance standard.

Trend Micro receives FedRAMP Authorization to Operate

Late last year, cybersecurity leader Trend Micro earned FedRAMP Authorization to Operate (ATO) for its Trend Vision One for Government platform, enabling the delivery of Zero Trust security solutions to US federal agencies.

The authorization allows Trend Micro to expand its presence in the public sector, helping agencies understand their Zero Trust architectures and meet key federal compliance mandates. The platform also enhances threat detection and response while improving government security teams’ efficiency through continuous monitoring and threat hunting across environments.

Established in 2011, the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) is a government-wide initiative that provides a cost-effective, risk-based approach to adopting cloud services by the federal government.

It aims to empower agencies to use advanced cloud technologies securely for improved operational agility, cost efficiency, and innovation.

Cato Networks launches ZTA-focused browser extension

Cato Networks recently introduced a new browser extension that extends Zero Trust access to unmanaged devices, serving as an entry point to the Cato SASE Cloud Platform.

Working natively with standard browsers—including as a native Google Cloud extension —Cato’s extension enables secure access without requiring client installations or additional software.  It also enforces the same ZTNA policies already applied across the enterprise, so IT doesn’t need to create or manage new rules.

“Unmanaged and BYOD devices aren’t going away. They remain the weakest links in enterprise security. Without the safeguards of managed devices, they expose organizations to additional risk,” said Ofir Agasi, chief product officer at Cato Networks.

“The Cato Browser Extension provides customers with the best of both worlds: simple access for users and complete policy control for IT without adding another tool to manage.”

SecureW2 debuts continuous, Zero Trust identity enforcement

Authentication provider SecureW2 unveiled new capabilities in August that enhanced its JoinNow Platform, strengthening how organizations enforce trust across devices, users, and workloads.

The new tools expanded certificate use cases to single sign-on portals, cloud workloads, AI-driven agents, and Zero Trust access. More specifically, the updates introduced condition-aware policies that adjust and respond in real-time to identity and security signals.

According to Bert Kashyap, chief executive officer and co-founder at SecureW2, the changes underscored how enterprises are prioritizing trust as a central part of their security posture.

“Enterprises are recognizing that trust must constantly be earned, not periodically revalidated. We pioneered a model where certificates function as dynamic trust objects, self-adjusting in real time to reflect changing conditions,” said Kashyap.

Verdict: Zero Trust as a Core MSP Strategy

Across the IT channel, it’s clear that the Zero Trust principles of “trust no one” and “always verify” have become fundamental to how cybersecurity providers build and position their offerings.

Whether it’s by expanding their own security portfolios or partnering with established vendors, Zero Trust has been, and will continue to be, a long-term strategy for delivering value in security.

And as AI adoption accelerates and AI sprawl and AI-powered threats evolve alongside it, its role as a critical framework for safeguarding enterprises will only become more important.
